Stumpy Lake Golf Course

very weird experience, checked in and given a cart key, but no carts available. Course was in decent shape,however overbooked and pace of play not enforced at all, we stood on the tee box for almost 15 minutes on multiple holes,fairways were pretty nice, course layout is fun. greens need help. quietness and wildlife a plus, being told they were locking the gate in 5 minutes when we were on the 16th hole with a group in front and multiple groups behind us when there was still another 35 minutes of light left was ridiculous. desire to return to this course is low.

It never fails that Stumpy Lake provides a great day of golf with such a beautiful course. Great job guys and gals.

Glad I only paid 20.00 because it was NOT a 45.00 course.

It was a great course considering a month ago it was trashed. Great work over the last 30 days.

The greens need a lot of work. To many dry ground, it's like an obstacle course when putting. Fairways are in good condition. Still couldn't understand why the humongous hole at the 10th.

The fairways were in pretty good shape, but the greens were in a terrible condition. Lots of bare spots and grass was better on fairways than the greens. Also, the course was pretty soggy with moderate amount of rain the previous day. It made for muddy conditions.

This course need a a few months to fix their greens. Been playing here for years but they need to close and fix things before accepting money for their greens.

It is not good when the fairways are in much better shape than the greens. Not just from arreation, more bare dirt than a garden plot.

Got to do 18 holes and it was a little warm but the breeze was nice. Enjoyed watching the boaters & boarders, and the little critters as well

Everyone is so friendly and even thought the course is recovering from a very hot summer, it is fun to play and the natural setting beautiful.

The course is well laid out and fairly challenging sitting on a series of lakes in Virginia Beach. Unfortunately the course was not in very good shape, the greens were in very poor shape making them a challenge as they were almost impossible to read for speed or break, the grass was burnt and diseased. The fairways were very wet and there was no bounce to balls hit well making the course play longer. This is basically a very nice course, when the greens get back into shape and the fairways dry out it will be a fun course to play.

This is always been a nice course, but has not been maintained at all. Fairways are horrible and greens are bare in about 30% of area. Rough is not maintained either. A once nice track is inn horrible shape.

So, right off the bat I will tell you that I've played this course now 4 times over the last 3 years of playing golf in the VA Beach area during my vacation. I have never any issue here until this year where there were mosquitos swarming me and my playing partner on at least 5 different occasions. I really like the course but this issue really ruined the experience, unfortunately. As for course difficulty, I am not a good golfer, and yet this course doesn't frustrate me like some others do. We've got one more good day during this vacation before the rains come in and due to the mosquitos, I'll be trying another area course. Otherwise, I would certainly have come back for a 5th time.

The course appears to be in poor condition due to neglect. The tee boxes were not mowed and had alot of weeds, the fairways were overgrown and the greens were burnt, rough and unplayable.

This was the worse course I have played in years. The tee box is poorly designed. The greens were burned badly. The ground crew were cutting grass while we played. Spend your money else where.

This course was in horrible shape this week. All of the greens are burnt out. It also seemed like they hadn't cut the grass this week.
