Stumpy Lake Golf Course
About
Stumpy Lake Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones design that provides a unique golfing experience. This scenic layout is routed across a 1,400-acre nature preserve that is absent of any commercial or residential development for miles. The golf course wraps around its namesake lake, which has a canoe and kayak launch as well as a fishing pier. Deer, fox, and eagles are frequently seen on the course and there has even been the occasional bear sighting. Water has a prominent presence throughout and there are also several strategically placed bunkers. Stumpy Lake Golf Course is a layout that will force you to be creative with your shot making but it's still approachable enough for high handicappers to tackle with confidence. If you're looking to get in even more golf, sister club Honey Bee is located almost right next door.

Great course
Course was is good shape except for the first two greens were kinda bad. Overall I like the course and layout. Fun tract to play. ill be back for sure.
Enjoyed the round.
Stumpy Lake was in the usual playing form. The greens were were quick and I liked that. Pace seemed slow. Then talked wit a marshall on the 8th tee and we were right on the scheduled pace of 2 hr 10 min. Still 4 hrs to play a round should be plenty. Overall it was a fun day of golf.
Solid VB Muni
Enjoyable muni that played in under 3 hours for my early morning tee time. Flat course with fun greens. Nothing to go out of the way to play.
Ok course but a few issues to address
Course was in decent shape. Fairways had a few patches of dirt but nothing that created a huge problem. Several of the greens however need some help. It could be because they are bent grass and the weather is really hot lately but on several of the greens they have patches where the grass was lost and I had to move my ball several feet so I was putting in grass rather than dirt. Pace of play was too slow 5:30 to play 18 but it was a Saturday so a little slower is to be expected. Overall not a bad place to play but could be improved with some minor adjustments. Oh cut your darn driving range warm up consisted of hitting a small bucket from the rough but on the driving range.
Minor repairs and course marshalling .
Busy day foursome's not playing ready golf Marshall should have pressed groups . Tee boxes really needed work or temporary relocated . Hot day in the 90 's not good for slow play .
Stumpy need some TLC
I've played at stumpy numerous times over the years, and while not the most frequent player, the course quality has definitely declined. The greens were horrendous. It's almost like they gave up on them they were so bad. One hole on the front 9 had an enormous dirt patch and a dead patch of crabgrass on it. The tee boxes were like concrete. Couldn't even set my tee the dirt was so hard on just about every hole. I know that we've been in a heat wave, but I played at sewells point last week and they had aerated the tee boxes and the greens were almost perfect. So by comparison, it seems like they've given up on maintenance. I really do love the course but I honestly can't see myself paying full price again for the quality that's being presented.
A Solid Time on a Course that Needs Touching Up
Had a great time with very friendly staff! Only complaint comes down to the greens being in a bit of bad shape.
Worth the money
Course is in fairly good shape. Tee boxes could really use a little love. The rough isn't too high but really difficult to find your wayward balls... Overall an enjoyable round.
My only issue was that we started about 25 minutes after our tee time. The group in front of us had a tee time after ours but got in line in front of us. I understand that slow play can happen, but 7 minutes between tee times seems like it could be extended to 10.
Course was fine.
Tee boxes
I couldn't give him five stars due to the fact that the tee boxes are in horrible shape they need to redo them all other than that very nice course good layout and the greens are nice other than the idiots that don't repair the ball marks you have to repair 10 to 15 ball marks on the Green
