Fox Hollow Golf Club

Played on a Monday morning and we must have beat the mowers and rollers out... fairway grass was long and soggy, and greens were bumpy and slow on the first few holes.

Most greens had large dead patches (which weren't, but should have been marked GUR).

Otherwise it's an interesting RTJ track. Last played here in the summer and enjoyed it - course was in in pretty good shape then.

Beautiful flat layout with water on many holes. Only complaint was greens were recently punched and had many issues with recent fungus issues. Did not affect the game much but would have been nice to know ahead of time.

Current price is high for value, but it's spring in Florida and I understand.

Fairways were in excellent condition but a few of the greens had some issues. All in all it is a very testing layout especially for the first time playing it. I probably would have enjoyed the day a little more by selecting a set of tees further up but it still was a good challenge.

Our round of golf took 5 hours 30 minutes and that included skipping the last hole.

A number of groups behind us also walked off the course including a group that were Fox Hollow members.

We were all behind a “bachelor party” of 12 golfers from Philadelphia who more interested in drinking than playing golf and seemed to enjoy “slow walking” the golfers waiting to play behind them.

We notified the pro shop at the turn and asked that a course marshal address the situation, but nothing was done to rectified the situation.

As Florida residents we play Fox Hollow on a regular basis, but this was by far the worst experience our group has had in many years of golf.

I am sure Fox Hollow enjoyed the group’s green fees, club rental fees and alcohol sales.

PS - On numerous occasions they ignored the cart path only signs and were forced to leave the fairway in reverse. Where were your marshals!

Fox Hollow never disappoints,

This is my 2nd time playing this semi-private Robert Trent Jones Sr. Course. Fairways, greens and surrounds are in good shape; the rough at times can be a little patchy but I’m sure it’s coming around. If your looking for a challenge “The Fox” is the place to play we had lots of fun even when not playing our best golf.

Staff and members are always nice and inviting, which isn’t normal at some semiprivate clubs. As a public guest this is exactly what we are looking for.

A classic resort golf course with a cost that seemed high for the value.

Course was in good shape and the pace of play was good (4:15). Good challenging layout with difficult greens.

Great course. Well worth the extra $20-50 compared to other courses in the area.

Great shape and greens rolled well. Pace in the afternoon was ok because a group was walking - not a good idea.

I love the course layout. The pass of play was 4.5 hours. The greens were sandy and recently errated.

We had a short vacation in Clearwater Beach and were looking for a golf course to play before heading home. We found a good rating golf course, Fox Hollow Golf Club using our GN account . When we arrived the golf course we saw the finishing up of the Greens Aerification process, sanding and watering. We were very surprised! Usually GN has done very good job in notifying the aerification schedules of any golf courses on there list by adding note in the app. Besides that the golf course has a very good layout with so many beautiful and challenging holes. Fairways are in great shape and the staff are friendly!

They are just packing too many players on the course. Five hours of slow golf

Course was in good shape and it’s a fun layout, pace of play was bad. Teed off at 230 and only got 15 holes in. Waited on every shot

We were very pleased with our round and look forward to returning to Fox Hollow !

First time playing Fox Hollow. It was great. Pace of play was really good. They had a Marshall on the course helping people along. In a very pleasant way. The course is outstanding. You have to think your way around it. They’re a lot of risk and reward holes. Excellent Bar and Grill with very reasonable prices. Great staff at all locations. They were great. You’ve got to play here. I’ll be back. Maybe permanently!

Love this course. The staff is top notch, the facility is very helpful, lots of space to practice and warm up. Conditions are very reliable from visit to visit.

Thoroughly enjoyed our round. Greens were in great shape. They rolled good and were quick. Lots of choice in tees to play. Pace of play was bang on at 4 hours. Our tee of was 9:45 so not sure about later in the day. Definitely would play more but my budget is $100 max. Need to look for deals but if you find one definitely play.
