Zellwood Station & Country Club
About
A 238-yard par 3, a 259-yard par 4, a treacherous hole called the "Train Wreck" and a five-hole stretch around a cavernous dry lake dubbed "Crater Junction" all help make the semi-private Zellwood Station Golf Club unique. Featuring hilly terrain not often seen at Florida golf courses, the George Maddox design, which opened in 1974, is a challenge. Located about 30 minutes from Orlando, Zellwood Station G.C. is known to be in good shape, especially the greens.

Hole # 10 Photo submitted by webelos on 11/17/2013
Good course for the price
Great course for the price. Would definitely play here again. Only downside was pace of play. Greens and fairways in great condition. Challenging course despite not being super long
Not awful
Toms of mosquitoes early in the AM. Course was in fair shape, greens were very sandy.
Good value
For winter conditions course in good condition. Greens were good, most fairways good. Only thing is the layout could be marked better. Would play again.
So Slow I Left
A twosome and what appeared to be a five year old were in front of us and were holding the entire course up. I get taking your kid out to enjoy something that you love but have some common sense when there’s two groups waiting behind you. 3.5 hours in and we were on the 12th hole waiting. Utterly mind boggling.
Expectations were high
We had a 3:38 tee time through GolfNow. Got there, paid, went to the first tee, teed off. By hole three, we were waiting 15 to 20 minutes on the tee box because there was a five some and a four in front of us that we caught up to. We paid for 18 but only played nine which took us two hours and 55 minutes to play. At that pace, it would’ve been a five hour round. We had another fivesome come up behind us and go around which led to even more bottleneck.
As we finished our first nine holes at 6:30 went to the clubhouse to see if we can get a credit for the nine holes that we weren’t able to play because of darkness now and found that the clubhouse closes at 5 PM. There was nobody on property, except the one person putting carts away.
Conditions were OK. Pace of play....slow.
Course was in OK shape. The pace of play is always slow due to the 7 minute tee time stagger.
Girls on Tour
We played Zellwood off the Ladies Red Tees and found it fairly easy, shorter than we are used to. Course was enjoyable, staff very friendly and helpful unfortunately our tee time was put back 30 mins but once we teed off it was ok, good value for money and the weather was glorious.
Long wait to get out
We arrived to be told that as they use 7 minute tee slots that our 1015 time would be more like 1050 the starter says it happens every day.
When we were to get out we should expect 4.40 . Its was laboit 11 when we got out the round was ess than 440 as we got thru a slow 4 bar and then had some clear holes.
Course not bad for the price at this time of the year. Better shape than a lot of others. No rangers. I might play again if not too busy
Saturday
Typical Saturday Morning… Place was overbooked and started 30 mins after our set time. 5 hr round due to slow pace. Tee boxes 3/5, greens 4/5, bunkers 2/5, fairways 4/5 and rough 1/5. Decent course for the price wouldn’t play on Saturday again
Pace of Play Terrible
Large group of 4-5 foursomes with a fivesome in front of us. 4:45 round. Waited on every shot. Starter should have allowed gap between large group to allow everyone behind them to have an enjoyable round.
Great course
Very busy, long round, great fun course, highly recommend.
