Wyncote Golf Club
About
Wyncote Golf Club in Oxford is one of the most challenging courses in the area. The heathlands layout feels like a links course with wind being an important factor and thick fescue coming into play. The golf course starts with an especially tough front nine but there are more scoring opportunities on the back. Mounded bunkers and moguls define the movement of the fairways and though there aren't many trees, if you don't keep your shots straight you might find yourself out-of-bounds or lost in the high, wiry grass. Sidehill lies await you as well as a few blind shots. Wyncote's greens have little undulation but the lightning fast putting surfaces are a challenge for players of all skill levels. With a few "grip it and rip it" holes mixed in, Wyncote Golf Club is a tough but fair test.

Incredible Course!!
I was impressed at the course condition. I played from black tee since I could not make paired. The course is very fair layout and reflect the score and quality of the shot. If this course is in an hour drive, I believe this course will be my favorite. Twilight $40 is reasonable. I might come back if I had a chance to visit the region again.
This course is in good condition for this time of year.
Staff was very welcoming. Food was great. It was a windy day, which made some of the holes very long. Greens were a bit slow but the course was in good condition. Brush was cut down all over the course. Pace of play was very fast.
Wyncote Golf
As always, I thoroughly enjoyed playing golf at Wyncote with my son. The course is in excellent condition ( greens were fast, true, and NOT aerated ). It is a great test of golf with a great variation of holes for a links style course. The pace of play was a little slow, as we can usually play in four hours max, but being the day before Easter, and early in the year, it took close to 5 hours to play. A little more marshaling might help. Give your ego a break and tee it forward to the white tees. The course plays long and the wind is almost always blowing. One of my favorite tracks in Philly area!
Good conditions for April
Greens and overall conditions very good after the winter we had. Could use some on course rangers to move a large group along.
Fast greens,
When the wind is blowing it's a true links experance
Wyncote is a stylish track that may have you thinking about golf on the other side of the pond.
I've played as a senior at off season rates for two of the past three weekends. Had no trouble setting things up. The rate at this time of year is unbeatable. Wyncote is a windswept piece of land with many attractive natural features (ponds, streams, fescue? (actually it's a sturdier grass than fescue so just avoid it). The opening hole and the closing hole are par fives; so are 9 and 10. For my money, #9 is the best of a nice grouping of three shot holes. The par 3s are spaced nicely through the round and the distances, at least from the blue tees vary substantially. On the par 4s, I prefer the short holes where driver might not be the play. I'd strongly suggest keeping approach shots below the hole. Maybe it's the grain. It certainly doesn't look that severely sloped but there's no such thing as "just past" from above the hole. Wyncote is an Ault & Clark design that's very well maintained. It's remarkable for it's use of gold, grey, and white grasses painting the landscape around the emerald grasses through the green. It's about a 45 minute drive from Philly International airport.
awesome. best course played this year by far
Great golf, great price on golfnow, excellent time, highly recommend this course
A great challenging layout with friendly staff
A must play! A challenging layout that puts a premium on accurate tee shots. Bring lots of balls if you spay it off the tee. Be prepared to manage the wind as well.
Nice course
Very playable for seniors. Need to be able to use different clubs for position shots.
Great, even on a rainy day. A Must Play
Played Wyncote for the first time in years, and I was not disappointed. The course was in great shape. The tee-boxes and fairways had been aerated within the last month, but the course was still in great shape. The greens are one of the best in the area; read and rolled true, not too fast and not too slow. Even though it was a Scotland-like day, there was no puddling or mushy areas. The tall grasses that surround each hole make shot making a must. If you are not confident in your driver, go 3 wood, for sure. Only thing that could be better is to have divot mix with each cart. There were some divots that just fell apart and had to leave them unfilled.
Awesome Links-style course!
Overall just a great round of golf ay Wyncote! Played with my buddy as a two ball and finished in 4 hours. A must play when you're in the Oxford area!
Great Views
It is hard to find a more scenic course anywhere near Philadelphia. It is a target course even though it doesn't look like a target course.
Excellent course
Fairway was best and green was good, but there was some waiting time to do next tee shot.
fun and interesting
I took my high school aged son and his friend here on a Monday in service day off from school. A much better option than wasting time at home. We played the blue tees which made the course challenging but fun. Tight fairways and small greens so it's easy to loose balls in the tall grass if you don't his straight. Will definitely return here to play.
Played twilight and finished in four hours
Started at 3pm and finished by 7pm and at twilight rates this course was a ridiculously great value. It was in fantastic shape and challenging. Greens rolled true, fairways were in nice when I hit them, the rough was mildly penalizing with not much room before you basically had a lost ball in the tall grass. It placed a lot of pressure on you to drive it well and then to score you have to hit the greens at the proper level, no ridiculous tiers just enough to challenge your putting skill. My only knock for the course is the lack of yardage markers. They only had 150 yd black and white poles each hole with only a few sprinkler heads per hole some of which didn't have yardages on them. Overall, I would play this course over and over again, but with a yardage map.
Great course
Great course in absolutely perfect shape. Fast greens and fairways, recently ranked #4 in the state public, and well worth the rating. Played for $50 on a Friday morning. Can't go wrong with that!
DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE
Pro shop was un-organized, took 15 minutes to check us in. No bag attendant.
Over 5 hours to play 18 holes. Tee off at 8:51, made the turn at Noon.
Foursome in front of us was playing their own "best ball" and at one point had 3 holes open in front of them; no ranger to be found.
No sand in Bunkers. Tee boxes were chewed up.
Not worth the money.
Very nice course, super friendly staff!
A very positive experience. Super nice staff, very nice conditons, worth the trip. Would come back again.
This course is always in pristine condition
I was a single playing the whites, joined 2 players playing the blacks, one was around even par and he other was around 3 over. I played a great course and got a free lesson. Amazing day
What a beautiful lass she is...
What a beautiful lass she is... well kept and pristine
but she is a temptress: Her long way golden hair and sparkling green eyes will entice you to go for the pin but if you meander off her path just slightly...
You will loose your balls to her - forever
so bring your A game and xtra balls
