Wyncote Golf Club
About
Wyncote Golf Club in Oxford is one of the most challenging courses in the area. The heathlands layout feels like a links course with wind being an important factor and thick fescue coming into play. The golf course starts with an especially tough front nine but there are more scoring opportunities on the back. Mounded bunkers and moguls define the movement of the fairways and though there aren't many trees, if you don't keep your shots straight you might find yourself out-of-bounds or lost in the high, wiry grass. Sidehill lies await you as well as a few blind shots. Wyncote's greens have little undulation but the lightning fast putting surfaces are a challenge for players of all skill levels. With a few "grip it and rip it" holes mixed in, Wyncote Golf Club is a tough but fair test.

Great deal
The course was in immaculate condition for November. Thoroughly enjoyed my round except for the 40 mph winds and having to chase my hat down the fairway more than once. I will definitely be back to play this course again!
Great condition for the season
The course was in extremely good shape. We played in very windy conditions and the scores reflected that; but again the greens, fairways and rough were well maintained.
what a great track,what a great test!
what more needs to be said about the number 5 course in the state! it's fantastic! if you want a true links course, this is it!!! including the winds. you will want to keep the ball low. my buddy and I stayed for dinner and it was AMAZING!!! I strongly suggest the chicken and rock shrimp scampi!
I will be back soon even though I live 50 miles away!
Never Disappoints
Country Club greens at a public course. Fairways and tee boxes were pristine. Was first off and played 18 in a little over two hours. Even though the course is a 50 minute drive from my home, I could play this course every week.
Impressed on 1st visit
The Staff was courteous & helpful, but understaffed. There was NO starter, cart man, or cart with drinks on a warm Saturday afternoon in late September.
The course conditions were very good & was very challenging. But the ONLY markers were from 150yds. & few other markers for distance to the green.
The pace of play could have been faster if more heads were marked or more visible 200, 150, & 100 yd.marking were available
Overall a pleasant experience
.
Bring extra balls
Had a nice day and an early tee time so pace of play was no issue. Lower handicap golfers will have less trouble but it is a penal course if you spray the ball. You can get lost in the rough and long overgrowth quite easy so take less club and keep it straight. It rewards good shots and bruises your ego with the shots that go slightly astray.
Hidden Gem in the Country
The course was in excellent condition with well manicured fairways. Fair but challenging course that can prove to be a little unforgiving if you hit the ball of course. The staff was incredibly friendly from the pro shop staff to the restaurant staff. All in all this is an excellent course to play.
Worth the 70.00
One of the few courses worth what they charge. Greens were in great shape - pretty fast and smooth. It had rained a lot the day / night before, but the course for the most part was dry - wasn't even cart path only! It was hot & humid - but one thing about Wyncote is hat there is always a breeze. Course, imo, is definitely tougher than a 125 slope from the whites. Lot of high heather grass - don't miss the fairways by much, and bring extra balls!
Awesome
This is a spectacular challenge tee to green. One of my favorites. I was one of the few out there, teed off at noon, finished at 3:30.
A Gem in the Burbs
I had not played Wyncote for about 10 years, I played it several times when it first opened. I was delighted!! It has aged very well, fairways are bentgrass and very soft, greens are in outstanding condition, the layout is wonderful, and the rough and grasslands are absolutely beautiful. You have to play this course carefully or you will loose lots of golf balls. If you concentrate, it will prove to be fair, but challenging.
Links style course
Links style course through windy PA farmland.
Well designed & maintained.
If you go past the 1st cut of rough, you're into very thick fescue & a probable lost ball.
Great Course - Afternoon rate is Perfect
Tee off on time on a Sunday afternoon - Excellent.
Course was in fantastic shape. Great challenge.
Just wish it was closer to home, I would play it more often.
Bring an extra sleeve of balls.
Terrific Golf Course
I used to live/work in Philly (2004-2007) and always enjoyed playing here. I was in PA for the weekend, and managed to get out at four old favorites: Wyncote, Iron Valley, Glen Mills, and Turtle Creek. I am glad that I started with Wyncote, as it is still a terrific golf course, very scenic, fairly priced, in great condition, with solid routing. Weather was good, as was pace of play. Highly recommended for anyone in Baltimore-Harrisburg-Philadelphia triangle.
Demanding
Great test,,especially difficult front nine, more scoring oppurtunities on back. Front is all survival mode!
Good track
Course is in excellent condition. I always enjoy playing here, especially in the shape it is in now. Will be back.
Beautiful, but bring lot's of Balls
This Course was challenging with the Tall Grass Everywhere, and I lost quite a few balls. The Course was beautiful though, so I'll get over the balls.
As a single in the late afternoon, I was able to breeze through the course as a whole. There were a couple foursomes out at the time, but they were very courteous and let me play through. On the holes where I didn't loose my ball I was able to attack the greens and made more than a few pars, but the moment your drive goes in the rough, you're done for.
Very nice course, just a couple of things
The course was in great shape and is very challenging. For the rate they charge you should not have to pay for drinking water on the course. The carts have no GPS and their flag sticks don 't have the reflectors to help with handheld range finders which makes determining yardage difficult.
This is a good course
The course was in great condition and the staff were outstanding. The majority of the course is wide open with several of the holes blind shot challenges. I would most definitely play the course again.
Very nice course
Great layout, well maintained and pace of play was really nice. I will definitely come back. They could improve by having better distance markers. All in all a good value
