Wyncote Golf Club

About
Wyncote Golf Club in Oxford is one of the most challenging courses in the area. The heathlands layout feels like a links course with wind being an important factor and thick fescue coming into play. The golf course starts with an especially tough front nine but there are more scoring opportunities on the back. Mounded bunkers and moguls define the movement of the fairways and though there aren't many trees, if you don't keep your shots straight you might find yourself out-of-bounds or lost in the high, wiry grass. Sidehill lies await you as well as a few blind shots. Wyncote's greens have little undulation but the lightning fast putting surfaces are a challenge for players of all skill levels. With a few "grip it and rip it" holes mixed in, Wyncote Golf Club is a tough but fair test.

Windy
Great course, great condition with smooth fast greens. Always windy and a good challenge.
Sandy Greens
So disappointed for no warning of aerated greens. Big plugs with sand filled divots made it impossible to putt. I would wait til the conditions improve before returning to Wyncote GC.
Hey, its january
Layout is very good. Aerated with big holes. Take 2 putts and move on
Wyncote
As always, this course is wonderful to play! I can’t wait to play it again.
Great Conditions and beautiful layout
It was by far the best course I have played in this area. Great layout and impeccable condition. Very friendly staff and an absolute joy to play.
Worth the trip — Windy
I had a great time playing Wyncote for the first time. I played on a Monday morning and flew through 18 holes. I was a single rider and completed it he course in about 2.5 hours. Magical when that happens.
Course was in exceptional shape for November. One or two greens were pitted with ballmarks and the bunkers could have used some raking after the recent storms but I am really pushing to find negatives. Fairways and greens were truly exceptional!!
It would be nice if the range was included in the round but $5 is not too bad for about 25 balls.
The one surprise I had was the wind. Wow! Almost every hole had high winds. Not a complaint. The wind made shaping shots interesting and club selection critical. This is especially true on tee shots.
The course is forgiving if you keep the ball relatively near the fairway. Balls outside of the ample rough are not likely to be found.
I ended up shooting my season low which is funny for a first time play of a course. I look forward to going back!
great first time
My first time playing this course and very nice course.
Rained alot the day before and seemed to drain just fine.
Fast greens even when a little wet.
Picture Perfect November day!
It was a 70 degree in November and the course was in great shape. I would have loved to pay a bit less this time of year, but overall it was worth it!
Wyncote never disappoints!
This was my third time playing Wyncote this year. I walked for the first time and really enjoyed the experience doing so, especially on a colder (45 F) morning. The conditions of the course were fantastic and with lesser quality courses charging prices close to Wyncote for a fall Sunday morning round, it's well worth the extra few dollars to play here. For a public course, there is nothing that compares to Wyncote elsewhere in the Philadelphia area.
Challenging and Beautiful Course
The course has a links feel with hazards positioned well to catch that not so straight or short shot. Well maintained and laid out, need your best game going to master this one.
Best in the region...
Best conditions of any course in the MD DE PA region... Pace was sluggish but can't take away from shape or layout. Definitely a course to put on your list...
A Fun Loop
The weather was ideal and the course was in excellent shape. If you're a newbie, try to leave your ball below the hole every chance you get
If you play from the appropriate tees for your game (be honest with yourself) this place is a lot of fun.
One note: despite the expanse of the property, the undulations, and the fact some holes require a walk of 100 yards or more, it is walkable if you're in decent shape. Again, be honest with yourself.
