About
English Turn Golf & Country Club is a Jack Nicklaus design that was crafted in 1988 to host the New Orleans PGA Tour event. Nicklaus designed the course to be enjoyed equally by spectators and golfers, incorporating gallery berms and spectator mounds throughout. This challenging design is known for its undulating greens that will test even the most seasoned players. Each hole has a unique design that combines strategically placed bunkers, including large waste bunkers, and sloping grass swales. There is also carefully sculpted mounding along the edges of the fairways. On top of that, water comes into play on nearly every hole. English Turn's signature hole, the 15th, is a tricky par 5 with an island green but it's the final hole, a par 4 with water all along the left side, that is rumored to be the golf course's toughest.

James the starter was phenomenal. The rest of the staff was awesome!! Course couldn’t be in better shape. Highly recommend!!!!
Great course
The course was extremely wet but was a lot of fun to play. James, the starter, did a great job explaining and the nuances of English Turn.

Always accommodating and professional. Best course in the area, hands down.
Great Drainage and Setup
Playing at English Turn for the first time was a great experience! We were greeted by the starter — James — which provided a great overview of the course, history of the course, and where all stations are located.
Additionally, playing golf for the past weeks has been challenging due to the rain; however, English Turn’s course was in great condition and their drainage system must be one for the books.
Definitely will visit again! Challenging holes and even better greens
First timer
Lovely community setting. Friendly and very welcoming staff. Wide fairways, fast greens.
Great Round
The course was in great shape. First group out so the pace was good. For the money I would have expected GPS on the carts and ice in the cooler.
English turn
English turn Was one of the best courses ever played very fair layout rough wasn’t too bad overall superb

First class
What a beautiful tract. Mr James our starter was one a kind, friendliest and most informative starter we have ever encountered. We played Friday in preparation for my son’s tournament on Monday and both days were outstanding
The rough is too rough for me
I hated that if you missed the fairway you had to consider it a lost ball and drop and then hope you can find the ball you just dropped.
This is terrible terrible terrible.
Did I mention how much I disliked the fact that I was looking for my ball so much, I quit playing even after I paid.
It began to cost me more in golf balls than entire round.
I pay too much for balls to can't find them simply because it ran out the fairway.
If this is what they will be from here on, I will never ever ever ever play there again.
Just aside.
The last time I played this course I shot 38 and 37.
If I would have kept playing I would have lost 38 balls
You must play this course
We were visiting New Orleans on the 4th of July weekend.

Worth Every Penny
The entire staff was great. James, told us everything we needed to know and more. Can’t wait to play this course again. From the fairways to the greens, everything was top notch.
