English Turn Golf & Country Club

Great layout, challenging but not unfair. Lots of water that comes into play. A few greens in rough shape around the edges but otherwise in great conditions. Rolled a little slow but true. Excellent service and pace of play was perfect. Never waited on a single hole and we’re never crowded from behind despite a full tee sheet. James is a great ambassador for the course and made sure we knew we were playing someplace special.

Love this course and will come back again.

This course is consistently a top 3 courses you can play in the New Orleans area. From the well supplied proshop, to the ample practice facility, to the incredible food in the grill, Jack’s course is a gem. (Nicklaus design)

James is a really good starter. He always has a good energy and is kind. For first timers he always explains the course and important things about it which is really nice and helpful.

Loved the greens. We were able to play in 3 hours being the first group out. James was a terrific starter. Would definitely play here again next time down.

I’ve played every course around the New Orleans area and English turn became my favorite today. We had James as the starter today, that guy is great. Challenging greens, challenging fairways. Highly recommend playing here. I know I’ll be back.

James is the man. Best starter introduction I’ve ever heard

English Turn was PGA tour venue. That is history now. Course has lost its charm. Never played worse greens and they allow the members to play in 5-somes in front of twosomes. The greens are tiny, do not hold iron shots and most of them should be replaced they are so bad. Sad, because this course used to be a great golf course.

Greeted with a cart right when I got out the car. The starter James was great explaining on the course and green speeds. Course was busy but we finished under 4 hours. Greens are in great condition (still small though lol). Glad to see the course getting back to what it used to be.

This was our first time playing English Turn and we weren't disappointed. This course has it all - gorgeous but challenging fairways, large but extremely tough greens and enough water to suck up a ton of balls. We played a day before a Tulane golf tournament, so everything was perfect. We would definitely recommend this course!

I am into the older courses. ProShop staff awesome. Head pro started a conversation. Advised of shop specials. Got there a bit early. They advised where I needed to go. Starter was very informative. Gave tips for certain holes. Greens were completely redone Nov 21. They were fantastic. Very fast & putted very true. Will definitely play again.

The course was in great shape. It had rained all night, so it was cart path only, but the course held up and was very playable. Temperature was 49 with a mist and 15mph wind, so it was a very sporty day, we still enjoyed ourselves. James, the starter was great, very helpful with info, being our 1st time there. Greens were in great shape, smooth, running quick. Definitely a course to play in New Orleans.

Really nice course. Very challenging for an average golfer such as myself. Water and sand come into play on most every hole. Straight drives are definitely rewarded. Overall, had a great time and will be back soon.

Seems like they recently replaced the greens. Very fast and firm. Greens were previously my biggest complaint about this course but I very much enjoyed them this time around!
