About

English Turn Golf & Country Club is a Jack Nicklaus design that was crafted in 1988 to host the New Orleans PGA Tour event. Nicklaus designed the course to be enjoyed equally by spectators and golfers, incorporating gallery berms and spectator mounds throughout. This challenging design is known for its undulating greens that will test even the most seasoned players. Each hole has a unique design that combines strategically placed bunkers, including large waste bunkers, and sloping grass swales. There is also carefully sculpted mounding along the edges of the fairways. On top of that, water comes into play on nearly every hole. English Turn's signature hole, the 15th, is a tricky par 5 with an island green but it's the final hole, a par 4 with water all along the left side, that is rumored to be the golf course's toughest.

I wish I could answer this!

Never had a chance to play!! It was a total wash out day!! The folks were very nice and refunded our money thru golf now without any hassles! Thanks

I have one serious criticism of Golfnow, when you ate forced to cancel due to weather, it is way to hard to talk to a real person! It’s way to hard to find a phone number to call. Need to improve this.

Worst greens in Louisiana

The course is beautiful, great layout , fun holes but the greens are in the worst shape I’ve ever seen. We were told that they are gonna shut down in June to redo most greens and they need to do that badly. Some greens were unplayable. Wait til next year to go play

English Turn has Turned!

I haven't played here in 30 years and I know I have changed, just hope not as much as this course has! It is in really poor shape. All traps are horrible and empty of sand and most greens are a disaster. This use to be the Crown Jewel in the big easy, not anymore. Rumor is that they plan to shut down and re-do the greens, it is needed!

Great course! Nice fairways. Long course. Clean restrooms

Clean restrooms. Pro shop is nice, staff friendly. Course in good condition. Gorgeous scenery. Pace of play slow yesterday because of crowds. Good value for 18 holes.

What happened?

I don't know what happened to the greens ar this course but it is sad.

Amazing layout. Hopefully things will improve.

Super slow play and no Marshall

Greens are in bad shape, trying to cover dead spots with sand, front 9 worse than back. Super slow pace of play and no marshals on the course, typical for weekend golfers that expect to play above their real skill.

Course conditions were below par. Some greens were in very rough shape. Others were in barely ok state. Course is challenging but reasonably fair if you can hit somewhat accurate shots. (Which I didn't!)

Beautiful Course and hole layout but....

Played even though it poured down last night and the wind was blowing a steady 25+ the entire round. Still we had a great outing and it was our choice to play in rugged conditions.
