English Turn Golf & Country Club

I really enjoyed this course. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Course layout was great - an instant favorite. Facilities were really good. Felt like a high end private club. I will play here every time I come to NOLA. This is a much better course/play than TPC and much easier to get to from French Quarter.

Only negative was some temporary tee boxes on a couple holes.

A lot of water on this course. Cutters have a advantage in my opinion. The 15th hole is a island green have fun 🤩. I was second player out on a Monday finished round in 2:45 minutes guy in front let me play through. Starters are nice and will give you pointers on the course. I will add this course on my rotation while in New Orleans. Starter will suggest playing from white. I played Blue/White. I will play Blues next time.

I got lucky with a hot deal green fee for $65 but normal green fees as high as $130-160. I don’t think it’s worth that much. A few of the greens had dead spots and were sandy. The bunkers didn’t really have a lot of sand in them. Shallow sand with some small rocks in them. Good layout overall. Nice views with the homes.

Everyone was extremely accommodating, started on the 10th hole because the front got slowed up by a large group. Appreciated the coordination and communication around the change. Form the pro shop to the halfway house, every team member was willing to help and made it easier for us.

The only drawback was some of the greens were not in great shape.

Love this course. Tons of water. James was very helpful.

Freshly punched greens that were not told to golfers until starter mentions it as you step on the first tee box. I had a hot deal tee time so wasn’t too upset, but I’d be frustrated if I paid full price.

Greens are very very small (punched the morning I was there), rough isn’t well kept, but other than those characteristics- the tee boxes and the fairways are in good shape.

Course layout was great, lost plenty of golf balls, saw a couple gators, fairways were nice, couple greens need some love, but the majority were excellent. James the starter was very nice and informative. The pro shop staff and bar staff were great as well, it was definitely worth the hot deal $80 price, but I probably wouldn’t want to pay $150 unless it was in perfect shape. I don’t regret playing here over TPC at all, I enjoyed the day very much!
