English Turn Golf & Country Club

I played the course last week with my Brother in Law. We were both excited since the courses we wanted to play in Mississippi and Alabama had significantly gone up in price. It had rained early in the morning and the course was listed as cart path only. Since my Brother in Law was recovering from knee surgery and I was diagnosed with cancer, we asked if we could use a handicap flag and play 90 degrees. The Proshop said yes. Even though it had rained, the course dried out very nicely. Everything was fine until about the 13th hole. We came up on a Women’s Scramble Tournament. Our momentum came to a crashing halt. I realize that the Women were probably club members, and they have a right to play. It was the slow play that was bad. They were slower than molasses being poured in winter.

The course is fun to play, just ask who is in front of you when you are in the pro shop.

My wife and I played this course for the first time. The entire staff is very friendly starting with Jared at the pro shop. The cart guys brought a cart to us when we drove in which was very nice. James the starter explained the history of the course and even took pictures for us without us asking.

The course was in great condition except the greens were a little too slow for me. Otherwise, the fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. They had cold water coolers every hole it seemed like and air conditioned bathrooms on the course which was nice because it was very hot and humid when we played.

I will definitely come back again and play this course. Thanks.

The course was nice. Greens are small but everything was nice and well maintained.

The course was a lot of fun. The starter, James, was very nice and even more informative, he was very helpful with explaining the layout and the history of the course. Overall this was a fantastic course and would absolutely love to go again if I ever visit New Orleans again.

Very slow pace of play, wasn’t notified it’s cash only on the course unless you have a member number. Beautiful scenery, very small greens with some dry dirt patches on the greens. Tough, challenging course with bunkers and water everywhere, good round of golf. Shot normal score in high eighties.

Somewhat friendly clubhouse staff. GREAT starter, he condensed a 30-minute lecture into a 2-minute overview of the course. Fun layout, lots of water and sand. Fairways and greens were great. Worth the cost and I would play there again if I had the chance.

This was my first time playing at English Turn and was very pleased. The course staff was incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to be helpful. Fairways were in great shape. The greens were in decent shape, but spotty in places. Overall a fantastic outing.

Greens need some work. I played here in April and course was in very good shape. Today there were at least 6 greens with some bad spots. Some of the greens had crab grass advancing on edges. Overall a very good course and very challenging. Fairways were great. A few tee boxes a little scruffy.

To be honest, English Turn is one of my favorite courses but i have seen it in better condition. The greens had been treated and had many dead spots. For May 28th, I was expecting better.

Cool concept. Generally unfriendly staff outside of the golf pro and the starter. Green were unplayable for the price. Fun difficult layout.

Overall, it was a good course for the price probably would not play again for the distance from my house

Course is very well maintained. Has water along nearly every hole. Nice greens. Challenging but fun course
