Old South Golf Links

Moved here 6 weeks ago living in temporary housing , have a signed contract on a home, still charged $125 non resident, definitely not worth that price $$$$ for this course. I told guy at check-in I can show him my contract he didn’t want to hear it. Left dissatisfied!!!

Old South fairways and greens were in very nice condition. Staff were all friendly and accommodating.

The carts have electronic course layout and distances which was most helpful. Located just off HH Island the fee was a good value.

Course was great! In great shape, played at perfect pace.

This is a Hilton Head area course which is refreshing as houses only dot a few holes. The layout is typical low country but fewer doglegs than some other area courses. Still, a few goofy short "target" par 4's on the back side. Overall good condition for the fairways. Some turtle back tee boxes meant it was difficult to find a flat lie. Main issue is that the greens had some patches of brown and less grass, which was disappointing given the overall condition of the fairways and rough. Still puttable but keeping it from getting 5 stars.

Great course, great staff. Greens a tad on the slow side but very good shape overall. Hole #7 stiiinks (probably because it was my 1 blow up hole but also too gimmicky) but not much they can do with the lay of the land. Highly recommend this course. Just barely off HHI. Good value.

Lovely course. Nice facilities, friendly staff. Greens were disappointingly slow.. I understand keeping them long for the heat of summer but ... Otherwise nice day at Old South.

I've played Old South almost every time we visit Hilton Head. The value is awesome. Great layout with unique hole designs. You have to think your way around this track. It was cart path only due to recent rain and the greens were still a little sandy (still very playable). I'll definitely be back.

Beautiful course and great layout but was really lacking on the customer care side. I rented clubs and they gave me a three wood with a broken shaft. We golfed on a day with a heat index of 115 degrees but had no free water on the course. The only way to get water was purchase from the cart gal or on the turn.

I played this course during then winter. It is so much better now. The fairways and greens are in very good condition. This course is worth a try. Bring a bunch of balls for # 7 and 8.
