Dos Osos Golf Club
About
Dos Osos Golf Club(formerly known as Eagle Crest Golf Club) is routed through the scenic San Pasqual Valley. Its secluded location and challenging layout have made Dos Osos one of San Diego's best-kept secrets. The beautiful layout incorporates cascading waterfalls and eight lakes along with colorful wildflowers and rolling green hills. The diverse golf course is a shot maker's layout that is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It measures to a manageable 6,417 yards, but it still offers plenty of challenges. In addition to the water hazards, pristine white sand bunkers add a stark contrast to the lush greens. The golf course is narrow, especially on the front nine, which is tighter and has more tree-lined fairways. The bank nine opens up much more. Dos Osos Golf Club rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategy but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

What a pity
Great layout in a nice neighborhood but the conditions are pitiful. If they charged 15 it would live up to expectations, but it's really sad how such a good layout is left to deteriorate. If only someone would invest some money in the course, it could be a great experience. At least, most of the greens were playable.
Save your money
The course conditions were abysmal at best. Mostly every hole has a significant amount of dirt patches scattered throughout the fairways. Nearly every bunker is unplayable and the tee boxes are uneven and definitely need more care. Save your money and time find another course to play. The ONLY saving grace is the pro shop staff. Outstanding friendliness.
Horrible Fairways, Decent Greens, Great Layout
This course has a great challenging layout, the greens are decent, but the fairways are more dirt than grass.
Save your money. STAY AWAY!!
I’m not sure I would even consider this a golf course. By far the worst course in the history of golf courses. Zero grass anywhere. Dirt fairways. Tee boxes probably haven’t been mowed since August. Played behind a group of 7. Played 3 holes in a hour and 20 minutes. If you feel like wasting your money and testing your patience then this is your place. This place should be condemned.
The course was in great condition, considering how much rain we had received a few days before. Next, the pin placements were some of the most difficult I have seen on the course ever. It made most of the greens much smaller. You had to be in a certain area of the green to have a chance to make a putt.. If you were above the hole, then you had no chance of getting it close if you missed.
Great job by the maintenance personnel.
Augusta of San Diego County
Quite possibly the best golf course in all of California! Fairways are in absolutely perfect shape, crystal clear lakes, and immaculate, white sand bunkers. Greens are in perfect shape as well with no blemishes whatsoever. Without a doubt the best golf course in San Diego!!
Beautiful area, nice layout but poor condition
I'll start off with the positives. This was an early Thanksgiving round with my son. The area is beautiful and the course is located in a gated community. The attendant was super nice and the pace of play was pretty good. We had to wait 10-15 to tee off on may 1/3 of the holes. The course and hole layout is nice and should resemble a nice Troon Golf course, but..........
I've lived and golfed all over the Phoenix and Scottsdale area which has many Troon courses, and I'm having a hard time understanding how this is a Troon course. This isn't the type of Troon course that I've ever seen.
The grass was in really bad shape when there was grass. The bushes and trees were overgrown around the tee boxes and basically everywhere. There was random huge weeds everywhere.
The exception is a couple of tee boxes and greens near the entrance to the gated community . They were really green probably recently seeded winter rye grass.
The clubhouse is really old and kind of odd, but it doesn't surprise me when you see the condition of the course. The course might be a great investment because it has good bones.
Great layout, but needs more water.
This was once a beautiful course, but has really dried out over the years. Challenging and long, Eagle Crest was a good value at $50 on a weekend, but this course needs some TLC. Too many dirt patches, hard packed sand traps and uneven tee boxes.
Good corse and beautiful location could yse some love
Track culd use a little love but still a challenging and fun round.
Enjoyable economical round
Friendly staff, pre-Covid rate of green fee, relatively less crowded course gave me a comfortable round in a pleasant fall afternoon. Course conditions, however, were below par for the course. Sand traps with no sand, fairways not fair, and aching spots here and there old worse than those aches of poor old golfer’s body. Still, a good enjoyable round for the reasonable green fee for a weekday.
This course has a great Layout
This is a very nice course as a great layout the conditions are not the best but if you can play for under 20 bucks with a cart good place to practice
