About
Dos Osos Golf Club(formerly known as Eagle Crest Golf Club) is routed through the scenic San Pasqual Valley. Its secluded location and challenging layout have made Dos Osos one of San Diego's best-kept secrets. The beautiful layout incorporates cascading waterfalls and eight lakes along with colorful wildflowers and rolling green hills. The diverse golf course is a shot maker's layout that is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It measures to a manageable 6,417 yards, but it still offers plenty of challenges. In addition to the water hazards, pristine white sand bunkers add a stark contrast to the lush greens. The golf course is narrow, especially on the front nine, which is tighter and has more tree-lined fairways. The bank nine opens up much more. Dos Osos Golf Club rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategy but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

So Dissapointing
I was so excited to play here but course conditions are TERRIBLE!
Animals holes everywhere (Gophers?)
Empty sand traps... literally just dirt holes
I could go on for a while.
Save your $ and time. Play somewhere else
Still very disappointing
A great layout but is poorly maintained. Recently managed by Troon but that won't last long. Troon has higher standards for conditions and maintenance. This is a great layout that required someone who wants to invest in getting back in share..
Thank you for coming out to Eagle Crest. We do appreciate your comments and take them seriously. We are on a mission to improve conditions and if you were to ask anyone who plays here regularly, they would agree. We have come across some road blocks lately with maintenance and it is being addressed.

Sad it's in bad shape
The course layout and challenge of golf is there. But the challenge of grass in bunkers, animal holes in fairways, large leaves on and unkept greens and fairways and losing balls in fairways was unexpected.
Got Lawn Mower and Rake?
If you like hitting balls in the fairway and still losing then….. if you like bunkers that haven’t seen a rake in years.., then this is the place to go!
We would like to thank you for playing Eagle Crest. Our most sincere apologies for the bad experience you had. We have had many team members out sick lately and that may have been reason for the bunkers you were in not being raked. We are dedicated to improving our course conditions and we hope you will come out again and have a better experience!
A landfill impersonating a Golf course
Where to begin let me tabletize:
1. Grass growing in sandtrap.
2. No sand in bunkers.
3 greens like a shag rug.
4. Animal holes in fairway.
5. No grass in fairways.
6. Overpriced
We would like to thank you for playing Eagle Crest. Our apologies for the bad experience you had. Our goal and commitment is to continue improving course conditions. We are doing that and the course has seen great progress. This review is unfairly written as we know the course is better than you have interpreted it to be. Also, please know that we are one of the most inexpensive courses in San Diego County due to us knowing that the course needs some work. We will continue to do that work and certainly hope that you'll come back out in the future! Thank you
Could be a great course
Really fun layout but they just dont take care of the course. Didnt have any sand to fill divots in either cart. Feel like thats the least you can do if you care about the course. Hope they can put some money into this place, definitely a lot of potential.

Worst Course I've Ever Played
Stay away form this place! Terrible course that has completely been neglected. More dirt than grass in the fairways, rough is a collection of weeds, gopher holes and dirt mounds that is not maintained. Bunkers on some holes have been let go so they are full of grass and weeds. Whatever you pay for this place is too much. All this for a 5 hour round! No ranger of beverage cart and didn't see any bathrooms either.
We first would like to thank you for coming out and playing Eagle Crest. We apologize for the experience you had during your round. There has been a great effort of late to improve our course conditions and it has shown. Asking many of our regular players, they all agree the course is much improved! To be honest and fair, this review is unfairly written in some ways; we do have restrooms, the course has much more grass than dirt on fairways and we do have a Player Assistant on the course. We are working to get all bunkers free of grass and continue to fight the gopher problems we are having. We look forward to you coming out again in the future and hope your experience is a better one.
Fun Course
I was told that this course was in really rough conditions, so my expectations were low. But I was pleasantly surprised. It was ok! Not great, but ok! And for the price, it's a great course.

Good layout
Course has a cool layout. Challenging but playable. The conditions could be better. Tee boxes are uneven and choppy, the fairways are missing grass in alot of areas, and finally some of the greens had weird drag lines that affected the trajectory of the ball to the hole. I would play there again if it is affordable.

Dirt patches in Fairway
A lot of dirt patches in the fairway. Greens are nice.
Time to sell this course to Troon
Brutal conditions of the course the ownership has not put any money into it fairways are a joke lots of gopher holes the tee box actually had a live gopher poking its head out in the middle of my backswing

Shame To See It Go To Waste
It's a shame what has happened to this course. I have never seen a course waste away as this one has. Really sad. Hate to see it. It's barely even a golf course anymore. I don't know what happened to the place, but it's a sad state of affairs. The course needs some serious help if it is going to survive.

I understand why the ECTeam would be defensive of my comment, but it's true. I'm not the only person saying these things.
A gentleman in my foursome has lived in that community since it was built. Hearing him recall when Eagle Crest was a GEM of a course and his complete disappointment of the current conditions was saddening.
What really upset me about my experience is that I drove up from SD and the photo's were not a factual representation of the conditions.
If work is being done to improve the course, then keep it up. Maybe this time next year, we'll all see rating improvements for this course.
I disagree with ECTeam. There are a lot of animal mounds, gopher and whatnot, weeds in the traps, dirt on the fairways. You guys need to lay some seed, rake some bunkers and show some pride rather than writing to dispute some truths online!

If you ask anyone that plays here regularly they would speak highly of the improvements. It is a bit unfair to say things like "animal holes everywhere" - "empty sand traps" - "literally dirt holes" as these comments are exaggerated.
