Dos Osos Golf Club
About
Dos Osos Golf Club(formerly known as Eagle Crest Golf Club) is routed through the scenic San Pasqual Valley. Its secluded location and challenging layout have made Dos Osos one of San Diego's best-kept secrets. The beautiful layout incorporates cascading waterfalls and eight lakes along with colorful wildflowers and rolling green hills. The diverse golf course is a shot maker's layout that is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It measures to a manageable 6,417 yards, but it still offers plenty of challenges. In addition to the water hazards, pristine white sand bunkers add a stark contrast to the lush greens. The golf course is narrow, especially on the front nine, which is tighter and has more tree-lined fairways. The bank nine opens up much more. Dos Osos Golf Club rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategy but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Nice views but course needs work
Course has potential to be one of the nicest courses in San Diego but is not maintained very well. Lot of squirrels and snake holes everywhere with sand pits not even being sand but more like concrete. Still had fun playing there but could use a lot of work but has some great views for sure!
This course has a great layout.
This is a Hidden Gem I love the layout of this course it is very challenging beautiful scenery the greens are in great shape I definitely recommend playing this course I play this course all the time and I love it.
This course needs a lot of help
I played this course today with one of San Diego's Men's clubs. Every member of my foursome commented on how poor the fairways and tee boxes conditions were today. The tees are not level, no sanding of previous divots, fairways are not definable between the rough and bunkers are weed ridden and unraked. The owner obviously is not paying attention to her investment as it is going down the toilet! This course was previously fun and in good condition, but now the photos you see online are a clear misrepresentation. I actually had to ask a staff member in the grill if the owner knew what a greenskeeper is? The price of this course needs to come down to get the play up and hopefully the increased play at a lower rate will yield golfers who care and can rake the bunkers, because the ones being paid to do it are not!
It needs some TLC
As a whole, course condition pretty bad except for the greens. It’s really a case of you get what you pay for — lowest price in SD County. I’d like to see the course survive, but it needs a lot of work.
Better than I exoected
This course just needs a good once-over with the maintenance piece. The greens were much better than I expected. Bunkers need a bit of sand, but we’re better than expected. Tee boxes can be leveled. $50 on a Saturday isn’t bad.
Very poor experience
Course was in very bad condition and the pace of play was excruciatingly slow.
The group ahead of us had 5 players from the 9th hole on. On top of that, one of the players would give mini lessons to a female golfer in the group. We waited each hole for them to get off the tee box and down the fairway
eagle crest
Save your money, not worth it. Tee boxes poor, fairways poor, greens average, no trash cans, no ball cleaners. Very few bunkers had sand. Needs a marshal to keep pace of play going.
Sad old gem now barely a dogrun
Everything was a major disappointment. I'd not played this signature neighborhood HOA-owned course for a year, and then it was 'on the way back', or so I thought...
After years of neglect, I'd heard from homeowners that management had seen the error of their ways and was pursuing restorative care for this old gem. But I must report literally everything is suffering from long term neglect and this course is not long for this world.
Carts, fairways, greens, hazards, cart paths, and even the driving range all yell "this course is being ignored by the owners until they can sell it for homebuilding"!
Don't bother playing this course. If the weed-overgrown fairways don't disgust, the cart ride will dismember you!
Challenging Golf Course
Even though it’s poorly maintained, the putting greens are decent and fun to play on
Course in bad shape
Course is not being very well taken care. It’s a must to play winter rules. Greens are probably the slowest in North County. That being said played 18 holes at 4:15 pace. Paid $20 on GolfNow, so I got my moneys worth. I won’t go back out again for more than $20 unless they improve course conditions
Sometimes it is about what you make of it
Saw the reviews prior to booking a time, and decided to give it a go nonetheless. While there are some bare spots and rough areas in fairways, there is grass close by and it’s playable. Some bunkers were decent and others unkept, but that didn’t matter much. The rough is what it is, you ain’t supposed to be there, and get what’s deserved. Greens have plenty of decent grass, but are slower than most due to mow height.
We choose to not dig them out of the dirt and played lift/clean and place in fairways, rake and place in the bunkers. Burrowing animal hole issues can be played by rule and we had a couple of those. While not the Eagle Crest course we once had, it is still playable and inexpensive, we had a good time playing it.
As the thread title implies and as Stephen Stills once sung “Love the one your with”. It’s still golf and enjoyable if you make it that.
Worst course in SD
Wasted money, this course is in AWFUL shape, there is clear neglect. The tee boxes are bad but the fairways if you would call them that are TERRIBLE.
Do not book
Greens are difficult
This was my second time to play EC. It has changed for the better. I played pretty well except on the greens. Very difficult to get up and down. The greens are only reachable with a nice high shot since everyone is guarded by multiple sand traps. Good luck, I warned you
Beautiful day at Eagle Crest
Great value, Rocky was welcoming and helpful, conditions were pretty good considering the times we are living in.
Great layout for the course but, it needs some major TLC!!
