About
Dos Osos Golf Club(formerly known as Eagle Crest Golf Club) is routed through the scenic San Pasqual Valley. Its secluded location and challenging layout have made Dos Osos one of San Diego's best-kept secrets. The beautiful layout incorporates cascading waterfalls and eight lakes along with colorful wildflowers and rolling green hills. The diverse golf course is a shot maker's layout that is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It measures to a manageable 6,417 yards, but it still offers plenty of challenges. In addition to the water hazards, pristine white sand bunkers add a stark contrast to the lush greens. The golf course is narrow, especially on the front nine, which is tighter and has more tree-lined fairways. The bank nine opens up much more. Dos Osos Golf Club rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategy but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Golfer Reviews
This course has a great layout.
This course is the best value for the money, yes some of the fairways have a little grass but then again it has a fantastic layout and some of the holes are great for the price you pay fantastic if the courses in mint shape it would cost a lot more to

course maintenance.
this course appears to be a old course. Looking at the golf cart road way needs a lot work. Roadway in many places needs repair. Fairways are not maintain lots of tall weeds, dry area with lots of weed patches. basically the course is bad condition needs a lot of up keep..

Upkeep
This course could be great if they took the time to fix the fairways. The only place that is well kept is the greens and skirt of the green. The grass around sandpits were completely unkempt. I would not recommend this course to anyone

Disappointing
20% of every fairway was just dirt, 25% was crabgrass, the rest had not been cut in over a week. Greens were lumpy and ridiculously slow since they'd likely not been touched in a week. Bunkers were completely WET (every one) to the point of mud, just the dusted hard crust of the god-awful trap had sand, under the dust was no sand and thick mud (but wow, no raking needed in traps since your foot steps leave no marks).

Bad course conditions
This was the worst course conditions I’ve seen in a while. The only part of the course even mowed were the greens. The greens were too wet and really slow. I can’t believe Troon golf maintains this property, they are usually very good.

Horrible
They course was in horrible condition with dirt fairways hard pan and horrible bunkers . It is very clear they can’t afford to water the course all dried out . Horrible conditions . No water or service in the course with no ice coolers on carts . We were dying for water horrible

Was probably a nice course 30 years ago
The day would have started better if someone would have told me the gate code so I could get in the gated community. Instead, I drove around looking for a public entrance. I finally had to look up the phone number & call. Luckily, nobody plays here so I was able to get right out even though I was late.
Nobody plays here because they haven’t maintained the course in years. The bathrooms were disgusting and that theme continued to the condition of the course. Driving range was Matt’s & dirt. Tee boxes were dead grass & bumpy. Sand traps were full of weeds. Many water hazards were empty except for the weeds. Some greens were ok but many were dry & bumpy. Fairways were mostly dry & bare. The layout was varied & fun. Tree-lined fairways were challenging . This was probably a fun golf course in it’s day.

Great course in very poor condition
Had to send this review out, since as an avid golfer myself I would want to know this. I love EagleCrest GC. It is a challenging track, with good length and design. Will force you to work the ball both ways, but enough opportunities to score. Normally the greens are nice and run smooth.
I recently played here and found the course to be in extremely poor condition. This is not a knock on the staff, who are always kind and courteous. The course needs a lot of work: the tee boxs are uneven with diseased grass making the footing very suspect; the fairways are burned out leaving you a shot from bare grass from the middle of the fairway; and the greens are in very poor shape. Most of the grass seems over-grown, as if it hasn't been mowed in a while.
Normally this is one of my favorite golf courses to play, but I would avoid it for the foreseeable future, at least until they can consistently get the grass cut.
