Dos Osos Golf Club(formerly known as Eagle Crest Golf Club) is routed through the scenic San Pasqual Valley. Its secluded location and challenging layout have made Dos Osos one of San Diego's best-kept secrets. The beautiful layout incorporates cascading waterfalls and eight lakes along with colorful wildflowers and rolling green hills. The diverse golf course is a shot maker's layout that is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It measures to a manageable 6,417 yards, but it still offers plenty of challenges. In addition to the water hazards, pristine white sand bunkers add a stark contrast to the lush greens. The golf course is narrow, especially on the front nine, which is tighter and has more tree-lined fairways. The bank nine opens up much more. Dos Osos Golf Club rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategy but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Worth the “deal” prices

If you can get out for less than $30 with a cart it’s pretty worth it. It’s a tough fun track that plays nicely from the back. The course condition is just the only thing you have to overcome. Fairways are horrible. Some tee boxes are a bit rough. I’m surprised to say that more than half of the greens were actually quite nice. You can tell they’re trying with what they got. There’s always good people when I go so it keeps me coming back. Friendly staff as always and just nice players on the course. Everyone’s real chill about it all because “it’s Eagle Crest”. Not too bad to bring someone who is just starting. Just watch the houses is all.

I did talk to a local and he mentioned that someone might be buying the course soon or something. Mentioned he wasn’t sure if it was going to be built on/over or if it’s going to be bought out and regroomed in a way. I do hope this track stays. I do hope they continue to give it better upkeep and it can one day become the Eagle Crest that everyone once loved talking about.

As mentioned in the title, it’s worth the deal prices. Anything $30 and below with a cart here is a great time. If you’re more into trying to beat your pb score each round and/or just stiff/dead serious about the game in general, I’d say don’t bother; you’d just end up leaving negative vibes and a negative review. If you’re more into the game for the fun and enjoyment of it. You might like this place, just remember to give yourself some and/or a lot of free relief because again, conditions aren’t the best currently. You’ll still have a great time nonetheless

Embarrassingly poor

Horrible maintenance. Bare spots mixed with overgrown spots on the fairways. The greens had bare spots and damage caused by poor mowing. There was no sand in the sandtraps. This was the worst course maintenance that I have ever expirienced,

Disappointed by bad course maintenance.

All fairways and a couple of greens are in terrible shape. Fairways are all dry with little or no green grass. Course looks like it was once a very nice and challenging course layout, similar to what Mt. Woodson and Steele Canyon are today. It looks like maintenance is kept to a minimum on fairways and they’re not watered. Bunkers had vegetation growing inside them and hard dirt, instead of soft sand.

Embarrassingly poor

The fairways were a mixture of bare spots and un mowed areas. The traps had no sand. The greens had bare spots and gashes caused by bad mowing. Only paid $30, but that was too much for this course. Simply the worst I have ever played.

Was expecting a lot less!

When I booked this tee time for $25 I wasn’t expecting a whole lot, especially after checking the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised to see how amazing the lay out was and some very nice views. The first 4 geeens do need some work and the fairways of course need some more greenery but for the price it was one of the most fun courses I’ve played in a while. The greens on the back nine are flawless and if this place was in tip top shape it would be a $150 round easily✊🏼

Eagle Crest Golf Course condition

Course layout: challenging & beautiful

Course condition: Given that for relatively low green fees, course owners need to keep low expenses as much as possible, but at the minimum & cheapest maintenance costs are to mow down all high wild grasses & weeds on fairways, drying out & putting fresh sands in bunkers, then I could give 3.5 stars given reasonable green fees!

Green fees: so so for current course conditions

Staff: friendly & courteous

Driving range: need new hitting mats or rolling artificial turfs across with new range balls (charging $2-$3 more per 50 balls or so).

Thanks,

Cong

Course apparently abandoned

Back in the day, I thoroughly enjoyed playing Eagle Crest. It was an interesting layout with good routing. And it was always in decent shape. However, now, it looks like it is simply being abandoned. It is simply not being maintained at all. Bunkers are just dirt with grass growing in them. Fairways are patchy at best. Greens are in terrible shape and incredibly slow. I don't know what has happened but the place is a disgrace.

Eagle crest, looks like they are giving up

Due to the past heavy rain fall this course has had a big issue with flooding. You can no longer drive the cart to hole 1 on the original path. No big deal, it has been like this for a month give or take now. No progress, doesn’t seem as if they care. Greens are decent, fairways are patchy/non existent. Bunkers are dirt, some have water.

Course is in bad shape, I played it due to how quick you can play here. Played my round in 3 hrs. Still some people golfing here but the crowd has definitely died out.

Eaglecrest

The course was very overgrow and showed almost no maintenance. there were a lot of bare spots and weeds taking over the course.

a great course to lose balls in even the fairways due to uncut grass and flooding everywhere.

Selling or Buying

The team in the clubhouse were friendly and professional. As far as the course, it looked like the entire course was under construction. 3 of 18 greens was in playable shape and you could not tell where the fairway ended and the rough started. Either the owners have decided to sell the course and let it go or new management has taken over and attempting to bring the course back. I golfed the course 20 years ago and it looked liked the pictures on the website. It does not anymore.

Course a lot greener after Tropical Storm

It was nice to see some green fairways, and the greens are always good, but some fungus has left some brown spots on greens now?

Sand Traps desperately need de-weeding.

Is anyone from the course reading reviews?

We played Best Ball and it was a good thing

We had to pick up the Grandkids, so needed to play fast, they allowed us to go out early and we played best ball to speed things up,

5 over par for the day!

A good round with numerous good shots (and a lot of bad ones as well).

We made it in time (10 minutes early) to pick them up.

All good!

Sand traps need to be weeded!!
