Dos Osos Golf Club

About
Dos Osos Golf Club(formerly known as Eagle Crest Golf Club) is routed through the scenic San Pasqual Valley. Its secluded location and challenging layout have made Dos Osos one of San Diego's best-kept secrets. The beautiful layout incorporates cascading waterfalls and eight lakes along with colorful wildflowers and rolling green hills. The diverse golf course is a shot maker's layout that is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It measures to a manageable 6,417 yards, but it still offers plenty of challenges. In addition to the water hazards, pristine white sand bunkers add a stark contrast to the lush greens. The golf course is narrow, especially on the front nine, which is tighter and has more tree-lined fairways. The bank nine opens up much more. Dos Osos Golf Club rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategy but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Do Not Play
-teeboxes uneven, had long grass
-fairways were TERRIBLE. Barely any grass on them, under repair, massive holes.
-bunkers had ZERO sand in them or the sand was HARD AS A ROCK
-almost left after the first 9 because it was so bad
-not worth more than $20 to play
Potential
Just when I thought conditions couldn't get much worse, they did! This course has so much potenital to actually be a great, fun course to play. It is very obvious that the owner has no desire to upgrade or even simply just maintain it in any reasonable playable condition. It is OK to play if you move your ball on EVERY hole and play preferable lie. Get what you pay for. $37
Great day golfing in the heat!
The weather was very hot, and after hitting a 2 over 38 on the front nine, got a 7 on #10.
The rest of the day was OK, sand traps still need a lot of attention. Greens were good. Staff friendly
This course has a great layout.
I really like to lay out at eagles crest. Yes, the course could use a little work, however the price to play is reasonable. Most of the greens and tee boxes are in good shape. Some greens are very nice.Dont let the negative reviews keep you from not playing here.Very good course to practice and improve your game.If you hit your ball in a dirt patch move it on the grass .Most of the fairways are decent. Go out and play the course and have a good time.
Absolutely Terrible
The course is one of the worst courses I’ve ever played. Terrible conditions on all holes. Only forgiving part was the greens actually had grass. Every hole was an overgrown mess everywhere except the fairway and tee box which were solid dirt. I’m never playing here again and I recommend you don’t either. Only way I’d play here again would be if it was free.
A course to go have fun and hit balls. Not to compete. (7/23/23)
I bet this course was amazing when it opened. However, its practically lost now. If you want to just drink and hit golf balls with friends or if youre a beginner and just want to see what its like to play a course, sure. But if your a better player, looking to compete with other good players, this aint the place. There are a some good things though. The layout for this course was pretty nice! A couple holes you didn't really know where to go however, but we managed. The greens are in pretty decent shape. And it was moderately priced. 40$ a person for a sunday midday round (with cart) is about the average price id say. But the bad outweighed the good. The fairways (if you could call them that) are a lost cause. The grass is barely grass, there's dirt in half the fairway, and the bunkers look like they haven't been maintained in years. The gophers have taken over the course and so there are holes everywhere. The cart (when it did work) decides how fast it goes, not how much you press the pedal. The driving range was well below average. The mats haven't been replaced in 10 years by the looks of them. The range balls are so old that they are almost completely smooth. And you can't hit your driver without hitting the buildings behind it. (Unless you go 250). The putting green is really nice though! All in all, they either need a superintendent to revive this place or desperately find a new one. They say they have the best prices in town but it was a ghost town on a Sunday. And you can't charge premium prices at a course like this anyways. If someone could take over and put a lot of effort in, they could turn it into one of the better courses in the area. It has potential for sure to be a Cinderella story. For my wife's second time playing golf, it was great and we'll probably come back. But for myself preparing for a big tournament, not so great.
Holy crap
This place just flat out sucked, I wasn’t expecting an amazing course or anything. I was at least hoping for a decent course though for the price of everything. It looked like it was just given up on years ago, and there is no fairway at all, just dirt. Ironically the bunkers have more grass than the “fairways”
DONT DO IT
Online pics are NOT accurate!!!
Worst course I have ever played in my life. They are letting the course go and it also happens to have the slowest play ever. Someone literally puked in one of the holes!
Last time booking ECGC
Good shots are not rewarded with an even decent lie. Course needs GRASS! Greens are okay but the fairways are terrible.
Where goats go to die.
A nice track, but has been completely neglected. Needs water and a greens keeper desperately! I was tempted to ask for my money back, but I guess it’s what I should have expected for $50 on a Sunday.
Ya get what ya paid for
Low price leader for a good reason; greens are the only saving grace for the entire course.
Not worth it
The greens are the only saving grace for this course. Tee boxes, fairways, rough and bunkers are terrible. Standing muddy water litters the course, weeds in bunkers…it’s not good. But the greens are in decent shape. This course could be great if the cleaned it up and watered it. Oh…and our cart died on 13.
They are starting to clean it up! Traps are now weed less
Last couple of times we played, ground crew was struggling with keeping up with rain and weeds.
Now it’s Summer and weeds have been cut ( still laying in the bunkers??), but work being completed.
Back nine a lot better than front nine.
Ravaged by Rain
This course (other than the greens) was in terrible shape. The recent heavy rains have not only damaged many parts of the course, but it appears that routine maintenance has been seriously neglected. I feel that in its current condition, the green fees should be 50% of what they currently are.
