Steele Canyon Golf Club is a 27-hole layout designed by Gary Player that is hailed as one of southern California's best courses. The holes are divided into three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Canyon, Ranch, and Vineyard nines each offer a different set of challenges. The Canyon/Ranch Course starts in an expansive canyon, climbs across dramatic elevation changes, and then wraps around an operating ranch. Free-roaming cattle wander all along the back nine. Although there are no blind shots, golfers will be faced with uneven lies and elevated greens. Steele Canyon's signature hole is the Ranch's par-4 third hole. The tee is perched 175 feet above the fairway and plays into the prevailing winds that blow from left to right. It is one of San Diego County's most memorable holes.

Nice round of golf on a perfect day!

Our foursome loved our day on the course. The weather was perfect, the course was in good shape and the pace of play was very good.

Hidden gem in San Diego

Great course in east side of San Diego. The scenery is beautiful and you hear no outside noises, real peaceful and you connect to nature. The grass and greens are pretty decent, considering it’s Winter. The staff don’t like to answer questions but they mean no harm, I guess.. overall great experience

Tee Boxes were rough hard to find a place to stand without a divot.

Greens were less than desirable need maintenance.

Still good

Usual friendly staff. Starter who actually does their job and send out players that prevents bottlenecks. Marshalls keeps pace moving. Multiple cart persons on course. And most importantly, the course is in good shape. Winter time golf is best when temperature is comfortable

Beautiful and Challenging Course!

Was in SoCal and got to play here, Maderas and Torrey Pines Southern Course - a nice golf trip!

I was a single and was paired with a couple great members and my man, Terry. My group was outstanding and definitely elevated my experience, but the course in itself was fantastic. I liked the mixture combos of 3 9-hole courses. I played Ranch/Vineyard. 3rd hole on Ranch was amazing.

Good times, highly recommend!

I CANT SAY ENOUGH

This course was immaculate!!!!!! Extremely challenging and beyond excellent course condition!

1.) The staff was AMAZING , friendly helpful and full of insight from the pro shop lady to the several starters and marshals I encountered

2.) The greens were immaculate and rolled as true as could be I would be hard pressed to find even a blemish on any of them and I played all three 9hole courses

3.) the pace of play was fantastic in these tough times for golf they have managed to properly manage a course

I’m aware this is not a budget course but it really doesn’t break the bank either and I will happily pay the extra 15 bucks to have the experience I had on Wednesday again .

Oh and I played terrible and I’m still writing raving review . Thank you very much Steele canyon!!!
