If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.
This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.
Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.
It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

Hidden Gem
Despite the fact that this course winds it way through differing neighborhood's and even across a major street, it is very playable and a good value for the money. The fairways, bunkers and greens were in great shape.

Very slow round
Had to pay at the course so not sure why i would use golf now again.
Great shape and patio restaurant
We played in 4 1/2hours on a Sunday morning. Back nine was much slower as front nine we played in under 2. Restaurant service was great, not slow, food came out quickly and hot. Course was in great shape and fun to play
Great Day
My wife and I played on a spectacular early December day. the pace was good, the conditions were good for just coming back from overseeding and the people at the course were friendly with great communication. The club house is definitely a must after the round.
B8g Rock Golf at Indian Springs
BigbRock is one of my favorite venues. The course and greens were in great shape. The greens were fast, but ran true. Some incredible breaks and you can find your putt run 10 yards passed the hole. Unfortunately, I had a 12:30 time and was unable to finish. We finished 16 holes and then it became dark. Even at 12:30, we should have been able to complete the round. We waited on every hole and as any holes knows, you lose rhythm and focus after always waiting. I still enjoyed playing the course and I recommend it to anyone that plays the game.
Did not play
When we arrived at course we were advised it was cart path and rough only. My spouse is Handicapped and not able to walk the distances needed so we cancelled our tee time. It would have been helpful to know the course situation and we would have booked another venue. Disappointted.
I enjoyed the course. It would be better if we didn’t have to walk so far. My wife and I are over 80 and found the extra walking a little strenuous .
