If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.

This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.

Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.

It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

If there is such a thing in PS… great layout and fun challenges. Super nice staff.

After over-seeding and reopening only a few days ago the course is visually perfect. The greens will soon be fast and furious.

Just before over seeding

The wife and I played on Oct 8 and the course was in very good condition for the time of year. Would definitely play there again and we might scoop up the couples deal that they have on the course for green fees.

Forgiving and really hot

Only played 9 cuz the temp was 103. Not enough water stations on the course. Probably needs to to be reseeded for the winter. May come back when the temp comes down.

I’ve been coming out here at this course for the past 2 years and it’s obvious that I love this course.. first the staff is the friendliest you’ll meet and not that fake friendly which is easy to see through.. anyways the course plays consistent every time from the fairways to the PGA style greens.. always a fun round and experience .. keep it up..

Big Rock

Second time I have played this course. No real complaints. Great setting and good amenities. GPS on the carts too. Bit of ducking and diving across roadwAys and through tunnels as the course winds it way through residential settings

Would definitely recommend you give it a try. I will certainly be back

Oh and the theme pub at the clubhouse is very unique!!
