If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.

This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.

Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.

It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

Big Rock rocks!

I played as a single, joined 3 others. We zoomed around the course, so pace at 3 hr 20 minutes was great. The course was in good shape, bunkers in good shape, and greens rolled nicely. The layout is a little ho hum, but it's good to get out and play on a beautiful day and the price is reasonable.

Course was in good shape greens were fairly quick. The only issue was we ran into a foursome on the 12 th hole that had let the group in front play through. And the foursome held us up for two hours and 15 minutes to finish the last seven holes. I never saw a course Marshall hurrying them.

Overall, a great experience

Played the course the day after it had reopened after overseeding, Was in great condition, the only downside was that you had to stick to either the cartpath or the rough which was understandable and which actually didm't slow you down too much. Friendly staff and what a great clubhouse afterwards.

Will definitely go back there, best course played on this trip.

Nice layout, unfortunate timing for us

The course is great, it was just unfortunate timing for us to book for just after top seeding and course re-opening. This meant cat path only, rough fairways and slow greens
