If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.
This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.
Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.
It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

Always a Favourite
Great Course with good rates available. Only objection is the need to buy balls for a warm up on the range.
Not like our last visit
We last played here just before covid hit and were very pleased with that visit, so we wanted to repeat that memory. The staff this time weren't overly friendly, the course was similar but more expensive, there's no longer the complimentary free beers and we felt less welcome, maybe because we used GolfNow to book??? The golf was good, greens and fairways were nice but it just seemed less fun this time.

Fabulous course in great condition. If you are looking for those mountain views, too, though, look elsewhere. All views are of houses and condos.

Always in great condition
Course was wide open at noon. Summer rates. Grounds crew very present and taking care of the course. Good experience. Recommend.
Fantastic day no waiting we got to go out a little sooner than our tee time. Excellent choices and service at the club house
Not what was expected
Unfortunately the course was a bit on the rough side. Also I don’t like driving across major highways on a golf cart during my round. Did not meet my expectations and value unfortunately.
Fun but Windy
We enjoyed playing the course and under different weather conditions it would have been a great day. The wind that day was a steady twenty mph with gusts that had to exceed 50 mph at times. The air was filthy but we kept playing and finished the round. Still enjoyed the course and will play again when we return to the Palm Springs area. Restaurant food was wonderful and the staff were all very friendly.

Wonderful course in excellent shape. But no iconic mountain views in Palm Springs.
This wonderful course in excellent condition was fun.
Staff was great. The course is very well run. The clubhouse showcases a lot of paraphrenia of Big Rock- rock- n-roll. However, the course affords no views except of condos and houses. If you seek iconic Palm Springs mountain views framed by a golf course, golf elsewhere. However we enjoyed great value golf. Excellent golf day!
The Highlight of Our Golf Trip
A group of us were in the Desert last week for 4 days for golf. We golfed the day before at a course that couldn't even be called a dog track. Several people dropped out before Indian Springs because it was farther than the other courses or because the day before wS so miserable.
Those remaining all had a great day at Indian Springs. It actually had green grass, sand in the bunkers, puttable greens and shade at tees. This one is definitely going into our rotation for next year. And the food was great after the round.L
Great value for your money
First time playing Cimarron. Located near the PSP airport, great value and course for the money. Minimal penalty trouble on the course. Played from the tips, good challenge. Will play again!
