If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.
This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.
Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.
It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

We enjoyed our golf day. Interesting layout set well back from homes for the most part. Pleased to have played here.

Staff were first class, first day back after fall over seeding as expected fairways were excellent, greens were slow, cart path only ,finished round 4hrs 5mins.

Great customer service
Had one cart that the battery light was flashing by the second hole. Someone came out with a fresh cart by the fifth hole. They checked the other cart and we had a 13th battery power left so told us to get another cart after 9 which we did. Thanks
Great pub attached to the clubhouse for a pint when we were done golfing. Great Day!
Fun course and 19th hole is great!!
The course is pretty fun. Every hole has homes along both sides, but course is wide and fairly easy. Grass was in ok condition. The clubhouse and bar/grill is awesome. Great view sitting outside. Very fun atmosphere and good food/drinks. All staff was friendly.

Really fun day
Went out as a single today, got paired up with a very nice couple Michael and Niki, this is my first time here, The course was in great condition, greens were running a little fast but A nice change from all the other courses in town where the greens are extremely slow, really enjoyed the layout of the course a lot of fun holes, will definitely be coming back, and also looking into golf membership here that’s how much I enjoyed it, staff was very nice also.
What a find
My son and I are on a two week So Cal golf trip. He picks all of the courses and chose this one I had never heard of. From the check in, to the golf course, to the pace of play, and especially the incredible Big Rock Pub, we were blown away. Fun course, quirky routing, and the best course conditions we have found on the trip. The Pub service and food were outstanding. Rarely do we play a course twice but we’ll be back for sure.
