If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.
This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.
Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.
It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

no ranger no beer cart
It was Saturday went off at 1245 which was tight to finish but then it took us 2 hours and 38 minutes to finish the front nine so zero chance of that happening. And we paid full price as well. Problem was not a single ranger in sight wth? Worse no beer cart or snack bar and only one place where water was available. I like this place but it is on my no play list until things change there. Might be never who knows.
Jewel in the Desert
Once again, I was very pleased with Indian Springs. The Staff is awesome and he course is a treasure. I play there every chance I get.
Great thanksgiving get away
4 family stayed in Indio for a mini vacay during thanksgiving and the boys went golfing on the black Friday. The weather was perfect, not too hot not too cold not too much wind. The course was very nice compare to the public courses that we normally play on, so definitely no complains there. Lots of water features to lose balls in and I did just that but that's not the fault of the course. Houses surround the course but wide enough where it's not that intimidating to hit drivers on par5. Definitely recommended and thoroughly enjoyed the round. The bathroom was very fancy.

No mask no vaccination and working with the public every 20 minutes is not acceptable and stupid and not part of our mutual benefit!

Fine Course
Nice resort style course, not long out of overseed. Course layout was challenging but not overly so. Pace of play was fine. The facilities were very nice as well, as was the service. We would play here again.
YIKES - NO marshal
With no afternoon Marshal, pace of play was awful!!
The two leisurely foursomes in from of us, by #13, had four open holes in front of them - resulting in us playing only 15 before dark, Grrrr
Resort corse
Resort style course surrounded by homes on each hole. Generous landing areas. Nice greens not particularly fast. Decent layout for what it is; nothing extraordinary. Decent value.
Nice course!
My wife and I played with member Tom (retried Cop) and had a nice round. Tom was very hospitable and gave us tips all day. Course was in great shape. Greens a little slow as expected due to recent over seeding. Nice friendly layout and some good scenic holes. Staff very very nice. Good pace. We tee off at 12 and finished in under 4 hrs. No Marshall or refreshments cart so bring lots of water, etc. good value for $.
Rocking Big Rock
FIrst time here....2some teed off at 130 and finished at 5pm (I know..amazing!) Good conditions but some may not be a fan of resrt community layout. I thought the fairways were in general very generous.
Worth playing if you get a good rate (~$80)
