If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.
This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.
Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.
It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

Good playing conditions. Excellent staff.
Appreciated Theo and his help as starter. Guys in the pro shop also very nice. Cart guys too!
The single that wouldn’t play with the 3 some on satueday
The starter allowed this single guy to not join up with the 3 some in front or the my husband and myself. We were paired up with a golfing couple. Every hole this guy threw down extra balls, while his wife drove the cart and parked in the wrong places.
I called the pro-shop and they were indifferent to this. Everyone had to wait on every hole.

Got matched up with Ron and Brady, very enjoyable round of golf
Good Value
People were excellent. Unique practice range in a wash. Course was in darn good condition.
Fun & Affordable
Great place to play especially for budget conscious in peak Coachella Valley golf season. Staff are always very friendly. Bar/food is wonderful and welcoming with great view of 18th from deck. Pro shop well stocked. Only downside (to me) is range proximity. Course in solid shape but would like more sand in bunkers. VERY firm despite dry conditions that would support soft sand.
Nice find in the area
Booked this based off reviews and it was a very good course. The layout is interesting and a bit confusing going between the 4 sides of the intersection. However, once in the right quadrant, great golf. Very good conditions, and lots of challenges to keep even low handicappers interested (and not impossible for us higher handicappers!)
Early Morning Round
My son and I played a quick round before our flight out of town, and we picked a great spot. We teed off at 7:07 and we were done in three hours. The staff was greatt. The fairways and greens were perfect,!
Rock and Roll fun Track
Went out as a single day after Christmas so possibly not fair to say the pace of play was excellent when no one was in front of me
Fair place for a hack and probably more challenging when the greens heat up
Had a good time
Staff is great
Wish I didn’t get there too early to grab a bite looks like a fun bar restaurant with of course the Rock and Roll theme
