PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course

We really enjoyed playing this course and were paired up with 2 other guys that were great to play with. It was hot, but the course was in really good shape. We did however have an issue with our cart failing us on the 5th hole. It took over 15 minutes for someone to get a new cart to us so we could continue to play. The staff member who came was really a jerk. However, the beverage cart lady was extremely wonderful and gave us a couple of beverages on the house. When we were on the 9th hole someone was flying a drone right over our heads on the green. Very annoying. I don't know if it came from the Dunes or a private party. Total invasion of our privacy and a HUGE distraction while we were trying to putt. The driving range was closed because of an event, which we didn't know until we arrived. Overall though, it was a good experience and I think we'd play the course again!

Course was shutting down for 6 months renovations.

Great course in Palm Springs area. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice layout, fast greens. Some of the signage is a little ambiguous between holes so got a bit turned around once or twice. Overall a fun course and good value.

Loved this course but it is TRULY a Pete Dye design. Most of the greens are elevated at least 10 to 15 feet so if you are just a few yards short of landing on the green you might roll back 10 -15 yards! Having said that...it was a very fun course in very good condition. The pace was great for the first 12 holes or so but a little slow for the rest. I finished in about 4.5 hours.

Last day before they close for 6 months to redo all the greens so I don't know what normal is here - the greens were brick hard and lightening fast - impossible. The restaurant closed before we finished and the tiny locker rooms were full of stacked chairs so, if they have changing facilities, we couldn't see them. Layout is good, but par 3's a bit too short for ladies - we hate 80-90 yard par 3s!. Starter was great and club cleaner was friendly. Water and ice available on the course. Overall, a nice enough experience for the price paid (70 usd) and WAY better than L.A. golf for quality and value.

This course was everything I have come to expect from PGA West. Everything was in great condition and the staff was very friendly. Thanks for a great experience!

Always love playing this course, but in your preparation of renovating the greens starting next week, they were as fast as putting on cement. Otherwise, it was a nice round.

I was excited to get to play one of the PGA West courses. The Course was in good shape but I wouldn't say excellent. Greens were being dried out for seeding but were still smooth and true. It was an enjoyable round but I felt the service and overall conditioning were below what I expected. There was no beverage service on the Dunes course but they did have it on the Mountain Course. Not sure if that's a staffing issue or just the way it is. I would likely try the Indian Wells courses before returning here.

First, let me say that I played this course last week and had very high ratings but this round was terrible for course conditions. The course is closing at the end of the month to redo all the greens and it looks like maintenance has sprayed grass killer on the greens and fringe, it’s all dead and brown. The greens are unputtable, if that’s a word. The greens are so hard and slick that approach shots don’t stay on the green. The course should not have been open for play with these conditions. Add to the fact, there were people trimming palm trees, maintenance staff working on irrigation systems right next to the green on 15/tee box on 16, they didn’t care about the noise they were making. And don’t forget the pickup truck driving across the fairways. If they are closing next week, why can’t this maintenance wait until they close. My other problem, you can’t hit woods on the driving range, a class facility like this and the range is irons only.

I’ll return to the area next year and I hope they have fixed these issues.

From dropping your bag off to the staff in the pro shop, the bar, and the guys you meet after finishing your round, the hospitality is incredible! The practice facility is top rate. The course is in great shape though it’s hard to hold the greens with your approach shot but the greens putt true but not to quick.

For the Golf Now discount, can’t beat the deal. Highly recommend!!

First off, the staff was fantastic. They helped from unloading the clubs, getting checked in, shopping in the Clubhouse, giving us tips on playing the course and cleaning the clubs at the end. The course was in great shape and VERY challenging. It was a great experience playing a PGA Course.

First timer on this links course. Course staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The course was in great shape. Signage could be a little better to help navigate the course.
