PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course

Course had some problems due to the hurricane - that said the track is very challenging and fun to play. I thought the course conditions especially on 18the hole deserved a higher discount.

We were just over 4.5 hours so pace of play was decent but that said waited for much of the round. Marshals were friendly but had no impact on the situation.

Golf Shop staff and starter were very friendly and effective.

We played the Dunes course, which was in decent shape. They were cart path only which was a bummer, because of the overseeding. For the money, it was not worth it. I have to say it was nice that the starter gave us a handicap flag, since my playing partner needed it. We were able to do the 90 degree rule.

When, the course is fully open, it will be in good shape. It's just the cost that they will be getting over the winter out here in the desert is ridiculous.

No landing spot near greens, which didn't hold a good shot. Paid for 18,left after 9. Too much trouble around the greens ,humps ,sand and water.

Such a great experience and the only downside wasn’t the courses fault. The flooding from August is all cleared up and they were laying sod in the fairway on 1 3 and 9 and due to that they had ground under repair. That’s the only knock. This track is a must play! Thank you!!

It was early season. Greens were not taking balls well as they were sanded. Challenging greens to putt. I would stay away from the back two sets of tees unless you hit it like Rory. Play up a bit and enjoy your round. I am 76 with bad arthritis and played mid 80’s by keeping it in the middle.

Course layout very nice, condition was good for this time of year. Very friendly staff. Downside restaurant closed at 4 PM.

First day open after reseed so greens weren’t in great condition unfortunately. Beautiful course, tough green complexes, can’t miss on the wrong side! Still very much enjoyed the round.

We really enjoyed playing this course and were paired up with 2 other guys that were great to play with. It was hot, but the course was in really good shape. We did however have an issue with our cart failing us on the 5th hole. It took over 15 minutes for someone to get a new cart to us so we could continue to play. The staff member who came was really a jerk. However, the beverage cart lady was extremely wonderful and gave us a couple of beverages on the house. When we were on the 9th hole someone was flying a drone right over our heads on the green. Very annoying. I don't know if it came from the Dunes or a private party. Total invasion of our privacy and a HUGE distraction while we were trying to putt. The driving range was closed because of an event, which we didn't know until we arrived. Overall though, it was a good experience and I think we'd play the course again!

Course was shutting down for 6 months renovations.

Great course in Palm Springs area. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice layout, fast greens. Some of the signage is a little ambiguous between holes so got a bit turned around once or twice. Overall a fun course and good value.

Loved this course but it is TRULY a Pete Dye design. Most of the greens are elevated at least 10 to 15 feet so if you are just a few yards short of landing on the green you might roll back 10 -15 yards! Having said that...it was a very fun course in very good condition. The pace was great for the first 12 holes or so but a little slow for the rest. I finished in about 4.5 hours.

Last day before they close for 6 months to redo all the greens so I don't know what normal is here - the greens were brick hard and lightening fast - impossible. The restaurant closed before we finished and the tiny locker rooms were full of stacked chairs so, if they have changing facilities, we couldn't see them. Layout is good, but par 3's a bit too short for ladies - we hate 80-90 yard par 3s!. Starter was great and club cleaner was friendly. Water and ice available on the course. Overall, a nice enough experience for the price paid (70 usd) and WAY better than L.A. golf for quality and value.

This course was everything I have come to expect from PGA West. Everything was in great condition and the staff was very friendly. Thanks for a great experience!
