PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course

The Dunes could be a fun challenging track. But is is so poorly maintained. Greens rock hard and pockmarked. Classic Pete Dye tough with traps around everything and elevated greens. But when you can’t stop 15 yard flop shots, it’s not worth the aggravation. Sad to say the bones are good , however, the execution and setup are below par.

The course was unattractive and the greens had many sparse areas. For a course called the Dunes there was a lot of water. Off my list in the future.

Some of the greens need work but course in not bad condition. Pace of play was slow and no marshal in sight

Pace of play was brutal (4 groups on a couple of par 3's) and not a marshall in sight ... for the amount of money being charged, there should be some management of the pace of play. I get the fact that this is a public course and it''s probably too difficult for the average golfer. I would not recommend this for golfers with a handicap higher than 10 or with a desire to not be backed up everywhere

We played as a foursome on 02/05/22. Had three contacts with staff prior to teeing off. Bag drop, front desk and starter. Nobody informed the group that you don't ever return to the clubhouse and that there are no working restrooms on the course. Mixed couples group with no option or warning that you won't see a restroom for 4.5 hours. With the amount of money they charge per round, they could at least drop a few temporary restrooms on site. Course condition especially the greens were very spotty. There are so many better options for $150-$200 in the area.

The course overall was in great shape, except for the bunkers. The views are amazing. The extra junior/starter tee box was great for my wife, as well as tee boxes based off handicaps.

The Managment needs to fix the problem with the bathrooms

Challenging course with lots of bunkers…don’t hit it short!! Greens are challenging, but it was my first time to play the course. I’ll definitely go back. Beautiful views. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Really nice layout, but below average conditioning.

This was the nicest course I've played for reference. I rented clubs they were Taylor Made Sim. Unlimited range balls included in the $140 green fee. Everyone was very nice and helpful. It wasn't super busy and I played solo. The course conditions were pristine. The views are amazing. The weather was fantastic until I got to the back 9 when the winds kicked up dramatically. Shot a 42 on the front and a 50 on the back. Was really hoping to keep it in the 80's but the wind was gusting to 30mph or so. No fault of the course. I can't wait to play PGA West again someday.

The course layout is nice but the condition of the course and greens especially was very poor , I would not recommend playing at this time
