Resort Friendly

This course is in the PGA West family, however it isn’t quite PGA worthy. You will never see a PGA event here. Course is in good shape. Fairways are great, greens good and rough is inconsistent from hole to hole. Staff friendly. Didn’t get to use the range as it hadn’t opened yet for the day. Intimating first hole if you haven’t had a couple of swings on the range.

Slow greens & long fairways

Excellent layout but the fairways were long so tough to spin ball or get any rollout from drives. Greens were slow.

Course under repair

It was cart path only, which is always a pain in the butt and makes it very difficult to keep pace.. Almost every hole had a large swath of dead brown grass or dirt, and all the greens were sandy. Disappointing for the PGA West brand and the start of our vacation.

Our group enjoyed our 1st time at The Dunes layout. The course was a little beat up from the tournament earlier in the day, but greens in good shape!

Read all the reviews… I wish I had !

This is a mediocre public course at best. I have played all the other PGA West courses, and I’m more than surprised that their name is on this, and that they charge what they do. A lot of the courses through a large drainage ditch, and there are many uncapped areas in very poor condition.I guess honesty and GOLF doesn’t apply to the people who run in PGA West. It was also nice to meet Abraham cart attendant at the end of our round, and have him tell us how unknowledgeable we are, a real bonus

Slow pace

The Dunes course is a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the pace of play was very slow on our day. The starter allowed several twosomes out in a row, creating a slower pace. Fairways and greens in great shape. CPO all this week.
