Hate slow groups

Unfortunately the group in front of us insisted on fishing for their balls out of all the ponds which slowed things down. They could see we were right behind them so wish they would just drop a ball and keep the pace moving.

Got the run around by three people asking for a handicap flag.

Spent the last two years in a wheelchair and was told to get one from three different people. Finally the starter asked if I had proof if I was handicapped. I told him yes but it was in my car in the handicapped spot in the parking lot.

I told him the lady at the desk had the flag by the cart guy. The lady at the desk upstairs said the starter had one.

The starter said the lady upstairs would never say that. I was hurt and depressed that I was starting my first vacation in the last four years being treated like a liar.

I called the pro and he didn’t answer so I left a message of my experience and it’s been nine days and no return phone call.

I plan on calling the GM of PGA West after the tournament this weekend. I know he is busy now.

Not a fan

The course was in good condition. I’m not a fan of Pete Dye courses. The elevated rock hard greens are difficult. The pace of play was over 5 hours. At one tee box we had 3 groups waiting on the tee. The golf carts were defective. A alarm in a cart in our group went off twice saying the cart was too close to the green when the cart never left the cart path. The alarm couldn’t be turned off and continued for5 minutes plus. It was extremely annoying. We were considering abandoning the cart and walking.

A Great Course

We played on Sunday. The course is in excellent condition. We play here every year when we come to Palm Springs.

Next year we'll try the Mountain Course..i'm told the views are spectacular.

I highly recommend the Dunes. I enjoy playing here every year

Best part of round, cart girl and good drinks 😉

Layout pretty tough for No GPS. Greens almost unfair with poor pin position on undulations and no grass on first cut. It would take a few rounds to score to handicap. It is beautiful though. I might be convinced to try it again. 😉

Wife wasn't allowed to fish balls from ponds

Annoying unfriendly Marshalls.

Wife was told she wasn't allowed to fish balls from ponds while our foursome was playing,

Never, in my 35 years of playing golf, have I ever heard of this.

.. and no. The pace of play wasn't impeded.

Frustrating

This is a typical Pete Dye course where no good shot goes unpunished. The greens are all elevated and surrounded with mounds and bunkers, rewarding luck over shotmaking.

The staff in the Golfshop were condescending. No cheerful welcome on our check-in. Furthermore, after paying my green fee, and checking on my clubs, I returned to buy a pokerchip ball mark. My request to pay for the pokerchip was met with a scowl and groan.

Clubhouse bar / restaurant was closed at 5:00 pm.

Always fun and interesting.

The Dunes Course is always a challenge, but a fun one. The course is well maintained with gray fairways and greens.

Only problem was the slow groups in front, and a lack of marshaling to allow the rest of us to play at a reasonable pace.

Lovely course

Beautiful course

Good variety of homes

Marshalls on the course were not pleasant. Tried to rush us along even though we were on average 10 mins ahead of schedule and finished under 4 hours. They certainly took away from the enjoyment..
