The Course at Wente Vineyards

This is just a fun track. Tight in spots but all in all there is a lot of room to have an all out good time. I loved the greens as much as the views. The staff was awesome.

A very good mix between fair and challenging holes in a wounderful area.

Had the first frost delay of the year. Only an hour wait. Staff very friendly and grill is reasonably priced. When the delay was lifted the use a shotgun for all the early tee times instead of backing everyone up on the first tee. This works great.

Enjoyed a beautiful day on challenging course. We played in the morning and had the green's crew follow us for last 8 holes walking up to greens, leaving machinery running and fixing ball and spike marks as we tried to finish up. We spoke to crews and staffers that came by but no action changed. For $115 pp, money will be better spent elsewhere.

The course layout was very nice, not too challenging but not easy. Staff were cordial, but not overly friendly.

Course was in great condition, nice putting/chipping greens, and very nice grass range with unlimited balls. highly recommend

what an awesome course! first of all, the range on top of a giant hill was pristine, empty, grassy, and each stall was filled with a pyramid of balls to use. great start to the day! the staff was friendly and the starter helped us out with some tips. the course was amazing. great challenges, lots of different looks, tricky slick greens and TONS of elevated tee boxes that made it feel like you were teeing off the top the world. Gorgeous views of the valley and vineyards. A+

Would have given a 5-star rating, but I played after a few days of hard rain. The course was wet, but still in good condition (greens were great!). You just have to keep the ball in the fairway. If you hit it in the rough, you had to search well for your ball. As your ball would plug in the tall rough (that was soaked). Overall the course was great and I will play it again and I highly recommend the course. Next time, I will just have to wait after there has been a few days of hard rain.

Played Wente Nov. 25, 2012. Course is absolutely beautiful with many great hole layouts. Hackers will enjoy the course from the white tees and low handicapers will be challenged from the golds. There is some areas of animal damage to the course (torn up turf) and Wente is redoing the bunkers. Most on the back 9 were without sand and unplayable (ground under repair). All and all, I had a great time on a fabulous course. My only question is whether it's worth the additional cost. The Bridges is tougher though perhaps not as scenic, Chardonnay is every bit as beautiful though not as polished and both can be played for less.

I treated my brother to a "Country Club" experience! We tee'd off at 7:10am and got around the course in a little under 4 hours as a twosome. All for 57% off the normal rate!

Very challenging but fair course. You have to put your drive in play and greens are fast. I have only played once but realized that you have to play to the front of the green and bump and run your chips. Views from the tee boxes are amazing. Definitely a hidden gem.

A little treasure. I can't wait for another chance to play. Some blind shots require course knowledge. Great setting.

Beautiful weather made for a potentially awesome day…overall the course was in good shape. The work around the green side bunkers on hole 2 was ridiculous…from the middle of the fairway I had to hit over a large backhoe that was directly in line with the pin. The green on number 3 was very soft and full of un-repaired ball marks which made for unpredictable putts. However, after hole 3 everything was back to normal and the course was in great shape. Greens were very fast but receptive. All in all a very good day. Very slow foursome in front of us....:-(

Course was in very good condition and play took about 4 hours

Got a great deal on Golfnow for a morning play on Thursday. Course was in super condition and greens pretty fast. Pace of play was somewhat slow because of some kind of corporate tournament. 4 groups were backed up on the 4th Hole with the marshal nowhere in sight. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall satisfying round of golf. Will return to play again.

Great views course kept in great shape staff is very professional the groundskeepers were very active during my play and very distracting at times as they would not stop moving and with machinery running. Greens are fast but fair. I very much enjoy playing at Wente's

One of my favorite courses in the bay area with each hole having a distictive and memorable character.
The course itself is always in great condition and the greens are fast but fair. A lot of holes have elevated tees and end with an uphill shot to the green so club up on that approach.
Practice range available (only before you play) but it takes a few minutes to get there and back so allocate some extra time.

We played this course when the temperature in Livermore was a perfect low 80's. The course was in great shape, greens fast, and roughs were deep. The course layout was generally good and pleasing to my eyes, except for the 6th hole which is a short par 4 with elevated green (by at least 100 yards) and slanted fairway (by at least 75 degree). It was unnecessarily difficult and lacked imagination. One other negative was that although range balls were included in the greens fee, there were not enough balls to warm up when we got there. Otherwise it was a good experience and I will definitely recommend it.

Great course, always enjoy Wente. I was impressed by the marshal enforcing the pace of play ahead our foursome.
