Work in progress
This course is a great course for any golfer. It challenges all levels of players. The greens are pretty fast and the fairways run off the tee. It does get some nice winds every now and then. The staff is great and if you did get to make a tee time you can usually just walk right on. And to save a little money I would suggest going in the afternoon.
Fun course
Fun course with variation. Fairways and greens in good shape, but the greens were a bit slow. Slower than the practice green. OK pace of play.
Very friendly staff; starter, cart girl and shop employees - everyone gave us a friendly reception.
Nice shop with good prices.
Fun, fair layout with pretty smooth greens....
Twin Oaks is a great course for all levels of golfer's, course is pretty straight away with no funny designs, fun for all.....
Great course for the value
Mostly wide open fairways with a few holes that are straight drives off the tee. Great for the novice or expert golfer. I would recommend it
Coure in overall very good conditons
It was a great day on a good course. Hole 3 is under modifications and a couple greens were bumpy, otherwise great condition.
Great Day
The course was in great shape. The green are very consistent compared to other course I play. Slope is high so from the blues I think it would be much more difficult. The price is a little high considering the carts do not have gps for yardage. I think it would be better value at 65.00 than 78.00. I believe you would get more golfers to play more on a regular basis me being one of them. Over all really enjoy the course yardages are hard to find sometimes could be marked better on the course through out.
Outstanding Value
I live in Orange County, CA where golf is a fairly expensive proposition at all courses. So to drive to San Marcos, get a twilight rate of $35 and play an excellent golf course was really enjoyable. Beautiful course in outstanding condition. Staff friendly without being intrusive. Great beer selection in the bar. Had a great day.
Fun Course
We played as a foursome and had a good time. With the GolfNow hot deal, the price was a good value. Greens and fairways were in good shape considering the drought that California is having.
Marshall Madness
We are (were) regular players at Twin Oaks. Last Thursday, the Marshall followed our group for 4 holes (#6-9). At the 9th he was standing at the top of the stairs as we left the green to confront us. He said there is a new policy that just took effect & we are 8 minutes behind schedule. We must finish our 18 holes in 4 hours. It didn't matter to him when we said the starter held us for 10 minutes to let someone get to the 1st tee from the club house. It took us several more holes to stop talking about the way this guy treated us. Looking back, our encounter with him took all the fun out of our round of golf at Twin Oaks.
Beautiful course
With mountains around and lots of trees, it was
very beautiful. Well maintained and nice weather,
enjoyed it a lot.
Good Round on a sunny day
Over all an interesting course but not in pristine shape. I paid $43 on golfnow which is about what this course is worth.
Good Layout
If I lived nearby I would be a regular. A good challenge in pleasant surroundings and a well managed facility.
Twin Oaks golf Course
Great golfing experience with lots of terrain changes and nice water features
nice
Beautiful course with some cool challenges and testy greens. People representing course were really nice especially the ranger!
5 hours!!
Good track. Pace of play is a big problem at this course. Course was in good condition but 5 and a half hours for a round on a Wednesday afternoon is a bit much.
3.5 Stars
Nice day, the course was not in the best shape. Hole 3 was under repair and was a 60 yard chip shot. The greens were slower then usual, fairways OK. All in all an average golf experience.
Jim's review
This is a great value for the $
The course is green this time of the yrar . challenges your shot making and club choice.
Plugged with bad timing.
They were plugging the front nine when we arrived. Played the back nine 2 times. Joined with another couple on the last 10 holes. Slow process. Play is just slow in CA I guess.
One of my Fav's
Twin Oaks is always fun and a great value. This week the greens got punched and sanded but the ball still rolled fairly well.....$25 green fee plus a "comeback pass" to play again for $25. Always loved the course and we play there often....even when they are maintaining.
Great value for the money
It's been 10 years since I last played Twin Oaks, and I must say it just felt like going home again. This is one of the most enjoyable courses in North County to play. Challenging but fair, and if you get bored just play from the blue tees.
