Excellent condition
I got a great deal on golfnow. Was in the last group out before a tournament, so no one behind us. Course in very good shape, a few greens a little spotty
Reeeeallly Sllllllllooooooowwww
Teed off with a buddy a little before 4pm and finished IN THE DARK. Too slow, pace of play at that time of day should be around 3.5 hours TOPS. No outings or events that day either.
GREAT SCENERY IN A WELL MAINTAINED SETTING..
I WAS LATE FOR OUR TEE TIME BUT NO LECTURE , JUST A FRIENDLY STAFF TO GET ME PLAYING.
Always been a premier golf course to play
This in the middle of nowhere golf course is one of best in Southern California . Well maintained from tee box to green.and for a reasonable green fee for twilight rate. It's a must play if you're in the near vicinity.we played at around 4pm and no hassle finished the full 18 holes before darkness comes.always enjoyed playing twin oaks despite we live in the Los Angeles area.
slow play detracted from great conditions
slow play detracted from great conditions, such as nice greens and tight fairways
One of my favorite courses
Always a challenging round. Very Tight course, nice greens, friendly staff.
3hr's to play front 9
The course was in good shape.
at the fourth hoe we were 3 groups deep.
Employee was ask what the the hold up was and answered must be a lot of people?
check and make sure there's no slow tourny in front.
Good greens but slow!
I would recommend this course when the fairways are in a better shape. The sand bunkers were more like hard pack top soil. I don't understand why it was carpath only, the course was not wet. The greens were in good shape but a bit slow.
This course favors the left hand average player, or the draw player.
The course set up is very difficult for the average right hand player. Most have a fade or slice which on this course puts him it trouble constantly on 90 percent of the holes. It is a course for the better players also because of the elevated greens where 2 clubs are necessary to reach them. So for the public it plays hard, and it tires them out. But if your idea was to draw on the more experienced golfers, then it is sufficient for their skills. 2 under to 4 over would be a excellent score. Also, my wife quit on 13, it was just to difficult for her, so maybe in favors also the elite of the women also. Greens where challenging and true, fare was tunneling, but uncontrollable to hits to the right, they always trickled in trouble. Rating a 8 for experienced golfers and a rating of 4 to 5 for the average player.
Played on President's Day. 3 hours on the front nine, 2 hours on the back
Nice course. Played it the next day again with an early tee time and played in 2 & a half hours.
Nice challenge for the right price.
Not pristine, but slightly above average in condition and challenge. My only concern was that it was cart path only which slows down the pace of play. At $35 it is a good play. At $60 it would not be a good value for me.
a challenging course for a reasonable price
course was well maintained but punched the greens and sanded that day i played
Good layout poor maintenance
While most fairways are decent some need a lot of work and greens are very disappointing. Seems like nobody repairs their ball marks. I was repairing 4 or 5 per hole and not making a dent.
Great design for seniors and w/e players.
You can enjoy the course without loosing a few balls. That's how it has designed (Robinson............)
graet day of golf--a fine course
The course is fairly challenging; you want to hit the ball straight off many tees. Greens were true and nice speed. Water holes are challenging, gotta use strategy.
spend your money elsewhere until they put some attention into the fairways
the course has so many bare spots in the fairways and way too many different types of grass growing in them. the greens are not too bad though as they roll pretty well as long as you dont have a crater ballmark that some hacker didnt know how to fix right. only a greens had alot though. i really hope that they try to fix the fairways as best as they can before the farmers pre qualifier in january. also a few bunkers were way to deep with sand. after driving into the greenside bunker on #15 i look down and my ball is plugged about 4 inches into the sand. i wouldnt even have found it if the guys on the green wouldnt have told me it went there.
Greens are the Higlight
Definitely winter conditions at Twin Oaks. The greens are in good shape but otherwise there are a lot of bare spots. Traps are surface groomed.
Narrow but fair
We teed off in light rain on a Thursday afternoon. The pace of play was okay as we finished our round in a little bit more than 4 hours. A few of our friends warned us that the course it tight, however it was not as narrow as I thought. Greens were in fairly good shape and ran slow mostly due to the rain. The fairways need some work. We scored a good deal, I would not pay the $74 weekend rate nor the $54 weekday rate. There are other courses I would play before this one.
Twin Oaks is always Fun
I"ve played Twin Oaks for years and it's always in good shape. They had just punched & sanded the greens, which I should have checked being it's that time of year. Aside from that it was great to play early and we had nobody in front of us for 2-3 holes. For $25, it's hard to complain about anything. Shot 1 under that day, so that made it even better.
