This course is fun
We had a great time at this course and with G,Now
It was a great deal.
Beware of #9 if you need a lay up do not go beyond the cart signs 100yds out . One inch beyond and your ball will roll down a funnel into the water as there is Nottingh to stop it .
Good range and practice area great finishing hole.
Loved it good experience!
The course was very busy
There were a lot of people playing when we played and we were backed up for quite a while. Overall the course was fun to play and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The course definitely needs rain. There were several dry areas.
Excellent value!
I love this course, and play it whenever I'm in the area. The course is beautifully maintained and is fair but challenging! I highly recommend this course!
Very nice course.
Enjoyable round of golf, a good value for the money.
Twin Oaks
Always a good track although it was fairly slow play that day. Greens are challenging and the holes have a lot of different designs which make it feel like multiple courses in one. I would recommend this course, although i suggest looking for coupons as the rack rate is a little high.
Great course in excellent condition. Pace of play was right on the clock.
Wonderful experience. Our new favorite course in the San Diego area.
Poor greens due to aerorating small holes
Other than the greens the course was great. Be nice if the grounds persons weren't mowing when teeing off or hitting irons and putting.
Great track for advanced golfer
Really enjoyed layout of course. Quite a few bunkers protecting landing areas off tees and greens. Greens were fast even after aeration. Quite a bit of water also! Gotta play once or twice
nice layout
Fun and challenging course. greens were tuff because of aeration recemtly, bet they will roll when grown in! Wake up call on the 2nd hole (1 handicap) and seventh par three..
Greens were punched, not reviewable
Course improving from past condition. Greens where punched but should be nice when completed. Some grasses around the greens need attention due to fungus. Some thin portions on some fairways should be marked under repair.
The course is alot of fun and challenging.
This is the first time I played Twin Oaks. The service and friendly staff was great! I really loved the course, but the greens had just been punched and sanded. I'm sure that when the greens get back to normal, the course overall would be great and challenging. I'd definitely recommend it!
Fun track, great staff
Twin oaks is a JC course. This is one of two I've played (Encinitas Ranch is the other). Both are well marked with features of some sort at 150 yards, and both have very helpful staff. I played as a single, and was lucky enough to finish in 2 1/2 hours. Greens were a bit chewed up, but with the recent heat wave, you can't really blame them for that.
Rude Staff
Pro shop attendant was rude, apparently because I handed him the Golf-Now reservation, still in a folded state, he rolled his eyes, and rather than looking at the document, he scoffed and said "do you have a reservation here" the rest of the encounter was equally disturbing. I also got the feeling he was trying to see if I'd leave w/o the range code, since I paid for balls and rather than hand me the range code, he held onto it until I had left the desk. Luckily, I didn't go all the way to the range before I figured out his little game.
Also, there was no starter, even though I was told to check in with the starter before play
Reasonably fast well maintained greens. Nice!!!
Starts tight, ends tight, nice track. The greens were pretty nice, they said 10, was all of that. Very true greens. Lacking in drinking water outlets, cart girl was there though! Bit of a stall at 10 but wasn't a problem, stopped for a bevvy... Nice course that has been well maintained... Would have given a bit of a higher rating for conditions if there was one... would go back again
Nice course, fairways were cut badly and the greens were cratered
Played Twin Oaks on 9-4-13, nice layout, the complaints I would have are the way the fairways were mowed and the ball marks left on the greens. They had cut the fairways irregularly and in some spots the grass was cut so far down only dirt was left. There was a lot of grass clippings left in the fairways and balls settled in these piles. The greens were fair, but pot marked (I wish more golfers would repair their ball marks and a few others, we did). Pace of play was outstanding and we finished in under 4 hours, congrats to the rangers. I'll play this course again when I'm in San Diego next trip.
Good course. Good condition. But all JC courses are priced too high
Good course in good condition. Paid $70. You can certainly find other good courses for less. All of the JC courses (Rancho Bernardo, Twin Oaks, Encinitas Ranch) are well maintained but they are not worth the price. You can play dozens of comparable San Diego courses for less than $70. San Marcos, Carlsbad Crossings, Pala Mesa, Vineyard, Carmel Mountain etc. etc. etc.
Great shotmakers course
I had a great experience with this course. Outside of a couple greens having some ball mark issues, the course was in great condition. Definitely not a course where you need to be pounding drivers every hole, but there are some nice risk-reward holes. The staff was very courtious and even let me hop out for a second 18 free of charge. This will probably be my "go to" course from now on. (I live 5 minutes away, but I would say the same thing if i didn't)
Great greens, a bit short for my liking.
This was a great course for the value and the greens were exceptionally well maintained and ran a 10 on stimp the day I played. The only drawback for a scratch player is the course length, being a bit short at only 6500. However, if you play the two shorter par 5's as 4's for a par-70, it'll be a good challenge.
Great value for your money
I have played Twin Oaks quite a bit recently abs enjoy it more every time. The greens are always well maintained as well as fairways and tee boxes. Layout is fun and offers a good mix of holes.
Challenging course, yet you can score if you stay out of the tree lines.
Course is in great shape, great and frendly staff.
