Sunbird Golf Resort
About
The course at the Sunbird Golf Resort is a desert-style course that offers three sets of tee boxes to accommodate most skill levels. This executive length golf course has a country club-type atmosphere and offers a good round of golf. The greens are medium sized with some that are multi-tiered and narrow fairways. Bunkers and trees are also present on the course, adding some challenge since they can greatly affect shots. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. In addition to the executive course at Sunbird Golf Resort, the facility also offers a putting area and chipping green as well as a fully stocked pro shop.

Summer Fun
Course looked great , just because living here in Arizona, most courses are really dry , not Sunbird, all the greens were in good shape, pace of play was excellent, 1st one out of the chute
Always good.
Never get tired of playing this course especially in summer. Besides lower rates and less golfers at a par of 66 can play a round in 3 hours or less to beat the heat.
Everyone on staff is friendly and accommodating.
Great course
I golf here semi regularly, and have always enjoyed my experience. Well maintained course, and for a beginning golfer, it is not so difficult as to be overwhelming.
First timers
Played today and it was great , so easy to play and not busy
Favorite Executive Course
I 🩷 Sunbird!
This course is challenging, fun, & has great shade in the summer. The people in the houses that surround this course are encouraging and have a great sense of humor. It was such a great time on Saturday. The people behind us gave us space and the people in front kept a great pace. If you haven’t tried this course you definitely should.
Hot slow day!
Started 15 minutes early but allowed a single to go ahead of us on hoke #1. From hole #3 on we had a twosome continue to drag on. From hitting second balls, to the man giving the lady instruction and her constant taking too much time on approach of tee shots. This made the day very frustrating. Due to te heat we unfortunately did not see a Marshall or anyone that we could bring attention to this lack of courtesy.
2025 July
Overall course was okay. We have played this course several times over the past 2 years. I would suggest better control of tee time starts and the pace of play. We usually get done with our round in about 3 1/2 hours on average. However, this last round had a foursome of young men playing in front of us that slowed play significantly. They were playing some type of game (assume $$$) involved that slowed them.
Great for beginners
Staff were friendly, four of us played 18 for $88, hard to beat. Course was weathered and was in need of repairs. A lot of grass was being regrown/revived and a lot of cart path only holes. Back 9 is very easy, this course winds through a neighborhood so furthest tee back is only 110-130 yards from the hole, sometimes closer. Greens were horrendous, some fast, some very slow. Beginner course, only a couple water hazards and bunkers are few and far between. Pace of play was a problem. We were permitted to start early, but we had 2 groups of 2 playing against us. Why would these 2 groups not be teamed up as it’s customary at any course? We are quick golfers but this was an issue all day. Amenities were non-existent other than one restroom/water fountain well after the turn. Overall, a nice laid back course I’d recommend to any golfer wanting a laid back round.
Good value
Good condition for early June. Burmuta is still not fully growing yet so fairways are very thin and bare in many areas but the greens and tee boxes are very good. Overall a good value with a hot deal. Will play again soon.
