Willow Creek Golf Course
About
Situated between Greenville and Spartanburg, Willow Creek Golf Course is a favorite course amongst many area players. The course has a classic layout that starts out gently with a player-friendly front nine but then becomes much more challenging on the back nine. The layout is a seemingly mild 6,890 yards from the back tees but it can feel longer because of all the elevation changes you'll encounter. It's a golf course that will appeal to beginners but advanced players will also enjoy the many risk-reward opportunities that can be found throughout. Water hazards come into play on eight holes and there is a slew of strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The par-5 fifth hole is Willow Creek Golf Course's signature. This 516-yard hole tumbles across rolling hills with a stream that cuts right through the fairway.

New favorite Course just wish...
Love the course that my friend and I came to. Found the only thing lacking to be hole maps and a description and/or distance to hazards playing the course from the blue tees for the first time. We’re definitely eager to play again. I do recommend bringing a course map if you haven’t played this course before; even so, we still loved it, and it was the most fun round this year—each of us shooting under our handicaps.
Course in great shape
Always fun to play Willow Creek. New greens in great shape.
It has been a year or so since I played here. I was very impressed with the condition of the course. It was in excellent shape from tee to green. Nice layout with no real “goofy” holes. Will definitely be back.
5 and half hour round
Course layout is great. Some greens still not rolling true. The problem here is and always has been they over book the course. While waiting on our tee time #1 has 4 groups on the hole. 1 on the green, 1 in the fairway, 1 on the tee, and the last group waiting to tee. Nobody enjoys golf like this. This is why i take my business elsewhere. Plenty of other courses around this area where the conditions and rate are in the same bracket without the terrible pace of play.
We Love Willow Creek
Nice round today but hot. Greens were a little bumpy due to aeration but overall good. Can't wait to play there agasin.
We Love Willow Creek
One of our favorite courses in upstate SC. Always in great shape. Very friendly staff.
Tough start but overall good experience
If this is your first time, allow for extra time before tee off. We had a difficult time finding the clubhouse, there is no sign! Once we went to the right building (there are two), the pro shop was friendly and got us going. However, the starter was less than thrilled about us being a few minutes behind due to the difficulty finding the pro shop and waiting in line, then getting carts, then being able to finally get to the tee box. It was a stressful start to our round that could have been improved by appropriate signage or the starter being a little bit nicer about the whole thing.
Aeration
Would have been nice to know the greens were aerated before booking . But right after I booked then the alert popped up. Other than that good condition.
Fun course
Good course. Greens had been aerated recently, but still in pretty good shape. The rest of the course was in great shape. Definitely recommend.
New Greens Excellent Imporvement to the Course
I played this course in 2019 before they redid the greens and the new greens are excellent! Overall the course is in great condition in 2020!!!
I do like Willow Creek very much but like many courses the forward tees are not perfect. The positive is that the forward tee boxes were in good condition (e.g. nice grass) but they are uneven. This is the only issue with the course for those that play the forward tee box. I would give the course a 5 star rating if the tee boxes were even.
