Willow Creek Golf Course
About
Situated between Greenville and Spartanburg, Willow Creek Golf Course is a favorite course amongst many area players. The course has a classic layout that starts out gently with a player-friendly front nine but then becomes much more challenging on the back nine. The layout is a seemingly mild 6,890 yards from the back tees but it can feel longer because of all the elevation changes you'll encounter. It's a golf course that will appeal to beginners but advanced players will also enjoy the many risk-reward opportunities that can be found throughout. Water hazards come into play on eight holes and there is a slew of strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The par-5 fifth hole is Willow Creek Golf Course's signature. This 516-yard hole tumbles across rolling hills with a stream that cuts right through the fairway.

Save your money
This course is not in great shape. The greens are among the worst in town. There are better options for less money.
Great Course!
I loved this course. The fairways were in great condition. Green were pretty good. I loved the layout...it's right in front of you!
Pace of play
Willow Creek was very busy that day, but pace of play was actually pretty fast.
Slow for a Tuesday mid-morning round
The course was in decent shape. Tee boxes and fairways were in good condition. The greens had been sanded recently and were slower than normal, but the ball still held its line. The bunkers were in below average condition. It had rained the night before and bunkers were never drug or raked before the round. I was surprised at the slowplay for a mid-morning round on a weekday. We teed off 20 minutes after our scheduled tee time due to the slowplay, and then had to wait on each hole for the tee box, then fairway, then green to clear to hit each shot. We did still finish our round in four and a half hours, so all in all not terrible but could have been done much sooner with an average pace of play.
Excellent Greens and fairways
Course in great shape...paired up some great golfers...pace of play was on point...would play again
Fun, challenging course.
Great experience. Pro shop and grill staff very helpful and efficient . Course in great shape. Interesting layout. Definitely will replay.
What you see is what you get.
The course layout is average so a higher handicap player can come and enjoy themselves. The greens are usually in great shape and this time while they had plenty of green on them, they seemed to be a bit hairy and slow. Looking for a divot, good luck, on top of being slow, they were hard at the same time. I’m not sure how that is possible. Overall, the course looks and plays well. You will have fun.
Saturday hot dog and beer challenge
Our threesome likes Willow Creek as the layout is fun and not too difficult to get around.
The pace of play yesterday was horrible as we got stuck behind two guys and what appeared to be their daughters who had no idea how to play at all. The guys took so much time on their own shots and the course got all backed up. A round that would normally take us 3 1/2 hours to play took 4 1/2 hours and was extremely frustrating. No rangers to push them along and no offer to let us play through.
Also on the par 5 15th hole there seemed to be a war going on in someone’s backyard with rapid firing guns. A little disconcerting on the second shot I can tell you.
All this being said we will be back sooner rather than later.

Course is in great shape. Staff very pleasant. Great to actually see rangers on a public course.
Nice track
Staff is incredibly friendly
Aeration was not near healed which made putting quite a challenge.
I’m glad they are working on them though
willow
Just a little over four hours which is acceptable though except for a backup late it would have been 3 1/2. Greens were the best part of the course and rolled very true. Course design was good as Par 3's and par 5's varied a lot. Generally used most clubs. Greens were guarded appropriately and a few pin placements were in real tough spots and I enjoyed the challenge. Always ready to go back
Willow Creek on the upswing
The course was in good shape for winter golf. You could see some new work taking place with the bunkers. Of course, there was a frost delay, but that was expected and the staff got us off as soon as all our players were there.
Willow
Great greens. Generous fairways. Very appealing to look at from the tee. Don't be afraid to move back a set of tees.. blue tees were fairly easy for this 10 handicapper.. great hot dogs
BMW championship
The course is in beautiful shape and is worth every penny. I can't understand why this course is not on the BMW charity golf championship here in Greenville because of the space to whole spectator as well as long enough for players.if you're in The upstate of SC this should be a must for golfer.
