Willow Creek Golf Course
About
Situated between Greenville and Spartanburg, Willow Creek Golf Course is a favorite course amongst many area players. The course has a classic layout that starts out gently with a player-friendly front nine but then becomes much more challenging on the back nine. The layout is a seemingly mild 6,890 yards from the back tees but it can feel longer because of all the elevation changes you'll encounter. It's a golf course that will appeal to beginners but advanced players will also enjoy the many risk-reward opportunities that can be found throughout. Water hazards come into play on eight holes and there is a slew of strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The par-5 fifth hole is Willow Creek Golf Course's signature. This 516-yard hole tumbles across rolling hills with a stream that cuts right through the fairway.

great value
The course was in superb shape--fairways and greens. The rough was challenging, but not too rough.
Highly recommend this as a top notch daily fee course.
Great open course
This was my first time playing this course as well as playing this year. Arrived early so I could hit a bucket of balls on the driving range. People were very friendly. Facilities were great. Did not have anything to eat, thus I can't comment on the food. The course is very long, so I do not recommend walking. The course has several water stations where players can keep hydrated in the extreme heat of SC. Most holes are wide open. Very difficult to loose a ball unless one really miss hits it. Did not see any rangers on the course. Did not have to wait because of slow play. Highly recommend playing this course. Will definitely play it again. Did not see any lakes or water hazard. There was a creek of little significance.
blind shots leading to creeks
The course has several blind shots with creeks not seen from the tee. If playing for the first time important to play with someone who knows the course. The greens overall condition was good. the greens were scarred in some places by players not repairing ball marks. The driving range did not have any yardage indicators. it was interesting I would play again.
willow Creek first time
Great condition course with fair but tough rough. Greens were in perfect condition.
Well Maintained
Fits all skill levels. Beautiful course, easy to navigate, and nice surroundings.
Course has great facilities! Nice great driving range!
Love this course! Wish I was closer...but well worth the drive! A beautiful layout...doesn't have that one hole that has you thinking it doesn't belong!
Fun Course
Greens and fairways are in good shape. Had a great time playing. Pace of play was right on track. Was able to enjoy the round with feeling pressured by other groups. Facilities are nice and the staff was pleasant to deal with. One of best times I've had in a while.
Very playable!
One the best courses in the Upstate area. Definitely a challenge but more playable than some of the 'tricked up' courses in the area. Not too many blind shots, greens in great condition and the whole course is just a gem. Could play this place every weekend no question!!
Rained on
I got rained on on hole 4 but other than that it was a great course
Fun Course
Very enjoyable experience. I have played this course many times and always find it a great place to play. Good condition for greens and fairways. A relatively short course from the white tees. Not a lot of out-of-bounds. I will play here again.
Good course
Good fairways, excellent challenging greens. A bit expensive under normal rates.
Willow Creek Golf
The course was in excellent shape. The staff must try it and make the effort of pairing singles and doubles together if the course is booked. That way players won't feel that they are waiting for the group ahead on every hole.
Willow Creek
The course is over prices during peak hours. Prepay through Golfnow and you will pay a fair price If you take advantage of the delas. The bugs on the back mine are extremely annoying.
Great course, great staff!
This was my first time playing this course. I got there an hour early than my tee time because the forecast was for rain. They had no problem sending us off. The course was in great shape and I am sure will only get better. I highly recommend playing this course, just keep it in the fairway because they are all tree lined. This course also has its share of bunkers!
Monday at Willow Creek was super.
On Monday I played Willow Creek with my retired Navy pal. We were paired with another twosome who were enjoying a day at the course. We had a great time. The weather was spectacular, the course was in great shape, the staff was friendly and helpful. It was a great day of golf. I played my best round in over a year even though this was my first time to play in about a month. I highly recommend Willow Creek.
Rude starter
From the very top, from all appearances, this course looked great. I went inside to the clubhouse, checked in, and made my way to the range with a medium bucket of balls (40 golf balls was $5).
The starter asked me what time my tee time was, and if I was a "Guest." From that point on, if he wanted to get my attention, he shouted "GUEST!!!!!!" Some what rude, and a strange way to start the round.
Fairways were in okay shape considering the dry and cold weather we have had in the first quarter of 2014.
Bunkers were in very good shape.
Greens were bumpy, but they were just pluged and are starting to come back to life.
Overall, it wasn't worth over $40 to play. It's worth the trip to head up to Cherokee Valley, in my opinion and pay about $15 less.
Hilly course
Used to playing flat courses in Fl. Lots of fun. Recently punched and sanded so putting was a challenge.
Weather
Would have been nice to know the greens had been aeriated recently, putts were all over the place... Will call before booking next time.
Greens aerated
Wish it was indicated when booking my round... It was like putting on a I-85!
