Power Ranch Golf Club
About
With its neighbors being the Santan Range and Superstition Mountain, it is no wonder Power Ranch Golf Club (formerly known as Trilogy Golf Club at Power Ranch) is known for its spectacular views. Although this championship golf course is near a residential area, the course architect, Dick Bailey, insists the homes were routed to accommodate the golf course and not vice versa. The holes amble through the cleansed desert of the Queen Creek wash, which features plenty of interesting elevation changes. Strategically placed mounding and bunkers are situated throughout the golf course. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. Four sets of tee boxes are available to test experienced golfers and allow beginners to enjoy Power Ranch Golf Club as well.

How come I always have to hit my ball here? Photo submitted by cofgrindr8 on 12/10/2013
Greens horrible
The fairway was under repair so that was understandable but the greens are all half dead. It’s a shame because this used to be a good course.
Bad Shape
Course was in really bad shape. Lots of dirt patches on every green. Some fairways, especially on back 9 looked like they had been double punched with dirt clods all over the place. Pro shop never said anything about the condition nor had it been displayed on website. New owners should close down for a week or two to get it back to shape. Putting green was missing (again), they had redone it last year and are redoing again.
Not Worth It
We were invited to play this course by a client. We took a look at some of the previous reviews and thought surely it wasn’t this bad. It wasn’t. It was worse.
The greens are not playable and probably won’t be until winter reseeding. No beverage cart was visible during our 18 hole round. Once we were provided our cart, the only person we saw on the course was an occasional grounds worker trying to water what was left of a green. In short, we had heard great things about this course, but its condition is not worth it at an price, and our round was free!
Worse Greens EVER !!
Course layout was excellent but it was over shadowed by the absolute worse greens I've ever played!!
My planning partner and I just gave up lining up our puts so we played closest to the pin on our approach shots.
Sprinklers were on completely watering 3 or 4 holes and we had to wait for maintenance crews to move in order to play through.
Disappointed overall but lets hope a lot of TLC will be spent on the greens so their playable !!
What happened to this course?
The conditions were so bad, I left after 3 holes. Thr greens are unplayable period. I was paired with 2 members and they said they just hit the ball on the green and auto give themselves a 2 put. How do you think they are feeling about their members due about now? The fairways were in no better shape. This course used to be really nice and a good value but now...trash. I can't believe they even let people play the course in this condition. They should shut it down for the summer and fix it or sell it to someone who cares.
Course has gone Downhill
After playing this course 2 years ago I was quite impressed. However when I played this course yesterday it stunned me how bad it has become. Greens are absolutely horrendous, mostly sand and dirt. Fairways are 50% dirt patches. Very surprised to see such a nice course turned to crap.
Power Ranch
I haven’t played here in several months. I love the course but it was in poor condition today. They’re getting ready to work on the greens next week but the tee boxes and approaches are also in poor condition. I will look forward to hitting this course this fall. It should be in much better shape then.
Greens are not good.
The Greens were very very bad. A ton of bare spots and sandy. Would have been nice to be told of this situation before start of play.
Pathetic Round
disgusting course condition and unenjoyable round overall. Golf Now and course failed to advice that the course was proactically completely burned off for aerating? I putted on sand all day on the bumpy and comletely pathetic greens. Fairways were no better. No one advised me prior to this and I would have never wasted my time and money. No beverage cart until back 9 due to callout. I went into the golf shop after round to voice my displeasure and the younger kid woreking only said "it is on there now" when I stated that there was no alert on golf now when I booked. The older heavier set guy just stared at me as if I was bothering them. I will be hard pressed to consider playing this course ever again. I understand the need to convert turf but do the right thing and let customers know rather than remaining silent to keep the cash flowing. I won't be back.
Whirlwind Golf Getaway Package
Mesa Golf Around Package
I haven't played there in quite some time, and I was thinking about it as I will NEVER play the Golf Club at Johnson Ranch again, but I am seeing one review after the other saying it's awful!
