Power Ranch Golf Club
About
With its neighbors being the Santan Range and Superstition Mountain, it is no wonder Power Ranch Golf Club (formerly known as Trilogy Golf Club at Power Ranch) is known for its spectacular views. Although this championship golf course is near a residential area, the course architect, Dick Bailey, insists the homes were routed to accommodate the golf course and not vice versa. The holes amble through the cleansed desert of the Queen Creek wash, which features plenty of interesting elevation changes. Strategically placed mounding and bunkers are situated throughout the golf course. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. Four sets of tee boxes are available to test experienced golfers and allow beginners to enjoy Power Ranch Golf Club as well.

How come I always have to hit my ball here? Photo submitted by cofgrindr8 on 12/10/2013
Nice course which looks good thru this summer heat
It’s a nice course and they are doing a pretty good job maintaining it through this summer heat. Greens were not in the best condition but decent enough. Guys inside clubhouse are always good dudes. Saw cart girl 3-4 times. Fairways in great shape just muddy, marked off areas, and some sand/dirt spots in greens here and there. Overall - hard to find a spot in the East valley that’s as good as this one, removing Longbow, Dinosaur, Ocotillo, and both Whirlwinds.
Summer play
Greens were at bit rough from recently being aerated. Bunkers are packed down from poor quality sand coupled with a lot of water which can’t be avoided this time of year. Overall the course is in excellent condition considering it’s 110 degrees out. We were expecting the prices to be a bit lower during summer and recently Being aerated.
Ouch. Overpriced and no warning
Feel bad writing this review, however I paid roughly $60 per person to play a course possibly in the worst condition I’ve seen in some time. Greens were absolutely awful. Approach shots into the green literally ‘splashed’ with sand. Tee boxes (played the Blue) were muddy, fairways spotty grass and dirt. Now, you can ‘advise’ golfers that the course is under seeding etc, which is what makes me mad. If I knew and purchased, then fair game. Not the case here. Almost went in and asked for a refund. Because of this, highly unlikely I’ll ever go back. Be honest. When your course is in rough shape, alter your price and make your players aware PRIOR to purchase.
Fun course in great shape until 7/6/20...
after weeks of playing courses that had aerated, scalped and/or sanded their greens, these were like playing on perfect country club greens. Mostly great shape. Too bad they're aerating them this week.
We love the course and even though we got stuck behind some alcohol-drinking hacks playing on a hot day, we still made it around in 4 hours.
We play here often and have always loved the course
Very accomodating
I was scheduled to play I with another single and a twosome. None were wearing masks, so I requested another tee time. They accommodated me. Two tee times later a cancellation allowed me to play alone! Great round! Hey golfers! There’s a pandemic. Wear masks in public! Listen to health experts! Not politicians!
Trilogy golf club at power ranch
First time golfing here, absolutely beautiful. First time I’ve ever experienced a nice staff like this. I spoke too soon at the end as I was asked if I wanted my clubs cleaned. Caught off guard and responding too quickly I said no. But come on, totally awesome, and the course was GORGEOUS
Ok round
In pretty dry condition. Had a old twosome playing behind us hitting from the red tees, hit into us every hole, we couldn’t play any faster everyone was backed up. They had their own personal cart so must be from the neighbor and I think they believe they own the place.
Nice course and good conditions
Green grass everywhere. Marshall told us the course is just now starting to come into good condition for Summer. Greens were consistent. Loved the course and the conditions. Expected less, given we are in Summer in AZ. Was pleasantly surprised and would go back again in a heartbeat!
Nice course for the money
We enjoyed our round of golf today. This was my first visit to the course, but my playing partner, had played a few times.
The course was challenging but not difficult.
The staff was great, and we enjoyed a great lunch after the round and a couple cold ones.
The greens were great, fairways were nice and the layout was fun.
Good grief at Trilogy
Service and price were great. Course was average for summer in Arizona. Pace of play was lousy. It’s interesting how an occasional group of golfers needS to have a committee meeting before every shot. Today was my turn to follow that group. Several groups behind me gave up and headed in due to the slow play. Pace of play is not an issue at this course. No marshals, no reminders- just take your sweet time...That’s Trilogy!
Terrific golf course. Really playable. Plan to play again soon.
Slow Pace of Play; however, fun course
By the 3rd hole, the group infront of us was 2 holes behind the next group. We called the Pro Shop to send a Marshall to ask them to play faster. They refused to send anybody. By the end of the round, the group in front of us were at least 4 holes behind. We would wait on the same tee as the group in front and they would not let us play through. The groups behind were getting upset too. It was 100 degrees and it made it worse when you have to wait on every shot. We later assumed that the slow group were probably members and the Staff did not want to upset them.
The course layout was fun. The conditions were good except for some sections of the green were dried out.
Too many people
We had to wait on almost every hole. Some par 3 had a back up of two groups. Greens were burnt but that was to be expected at this time of the year.
Water needed
I’ve played this course a number of times and I’ve often felt it didn’t quite reach its potential due to the conditions. This time though I was almost shocked at the condition of the greens. All of them were covered in dead spots and the ball would bounce around like you were playing “plinko”. As a foursome we all agreed we would play “winter rules”, a Midwest term for improving your lie by moving your ball to a patch of grass on the fairway. There were a TON of dead spots in the fairways and it was a challenge to get the club on the ball. Not sure it’s just a water issue or if the grounds keepers burned up the turf with an over application of chemicals. Would wait a while for the course to recover before booking another tee time here.
Staff
It was an amazing experience on and off the course between the staff and the greens!!! You definitely get your money’s worth with this course!!!!
Course is burned up
I’ve played this course before and have definitely seen it in much better shape. Lots of burned up bare spots on the fairways and bare spots on the greens. This is one of my favorite courses and was very disappointed in the conditions.
