Junior National Golf Club
About
Junior National Golf Club (formerly known as Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park and Estrella Mountain Golf Course) is rich with dense forestry including eucalyptus, mesquite, and pine trees as well as cottonwoods. The course has a parkland-style layout with rolling fairways lined with trees and undulating greens that are medium-sized and fast. To add more challenge to the golf course, water hazards and bunkers come into play on several holes. The par-4 seventh hole is considered the most difficult driving hole on the course. There are stately trees off the tee and the second shot is to a narrow sloping green. Junior National Golf Club features multiple tee boxes for a variety of different golfing options.

Worst condition in years
I have to say this course is in the worst condition of the Eny course I’ve ever played. During this time of year the winter rye in the summer Bermuda should mix to make a great playing atmosphere. The pro shop said they can courses in perfect condition. Absolutely ridiculous! After 18 holes your back is strained from all the bumps in couches throughout the fairway and rough. The green had absolutely no grass and your ball balance left and right making it impossible to score. At one point we had 15 people waiting on hole number four. The pro shop staff thought it it was funny when we expressed our concerns. Save your money and don’t make the mistake we made. Even the tea boxes had no grass we found ourselves breaking T after T trying tee up the ball. My friends and I will never return.
Great views...not so great golf
Course has great potential if greens, tee boxes and fairways were in better shape.
mixed message
Played the course very often for several years in the past and stopped because it was just a dust bowl with limited care. Saw the 4 star rating and had to try it again. Have to admit the fairways were is much better condition than in the past. The greens are another story. I would not be surprised to find that someone had painted the dirt green. You could not stop an approach and putting was an adventure.
On the other hand, it was a bargain just to get a round of practice in ball striking.
good and bad
Nice layout, greens were bout a 9.5 and were good. However, IF you could find the next tee box, it was sometimes tough to see the fairway that your supposed to hit because there wasn't much grass. They seriously needed a water truck to keep the dust down. No beverage cart,
Overall, the layout had possibilities, but the lack of grass and maintenance, plus theres no attire standards, you get the picture
park style, flat layout, playable if cheap
Flat layout.pretty much straight. No signature hole. Rather call it old worn off carpet than green. Won't be a fun course for low handicappers.
Park style & cheap, so obviously crowded &slow paced. Playable for higb handi golfer at promotional rate level.
Nice course
In good shape for this time of year. I'm sorry it's so far away.
All Dry outside of fairways
Fairways was too narrow and the grass was dry everywhere outside of fairways. Not enough grass on green.
Easy course to get around
Nice course, great price, and friendly staff. All three makes for a great experience will be back soon.
Good for the price
Fairways and greens were ok. Roughs could use water. We kept up with the group ahead but twice the group behind hit in to us. Saw no Marshall during our play
Best greens around
Greens are perfect. Fast and true. Enough trees on the course to make you hit fairways.
I'll play this course over and over again.
