Junior National Golf Club
About
Junior National Golf Club (formerly known as Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park and Estrella Mountain Golf Course) is rich with dense forestry including eucalyptus, mesquite, and pine trees as well as cottonwoods. The course has a parkland-style layout with rolling fairways lined with trees and undulating greens that are medium-sized and fast. To add more challenge to the golf course, water hazards and bunkers come into play on several holes. The par-4 seventh hole is considered the most difficult driving hole on the course. There are stately trees off the tee and the second shot is to a narrow sloping green. Junior National Golf Club features multiple tee boxes for a variety of different golfing options.

Great course for the money
We had a wonderful day. Pace was a little slow ,but was expected on a nice Friday morning.
Golf Tres Rios
We played the next day after a heavy rain and there was a lot of standing water. The greens were very good and appear to be very well maintained. Course seems to improve every season as an effort to make improvements is obvious. Will play there again
A Much Improved Course
We were pleasantly surprised in the condition of the course. We had played it a few years ago and it was in pretty bad shape. But without a doubt the maintenance crew have worked hard to bring it back to an enjoyable course to play. Kudos to everyone at the course that made it an enjoyable day.
Good Golf Outing at a Great Value
I have played Tres Rios a few times this year, and every time I have fun for a lot less money than the beautiful big name courses in the West Valley. The fairways and greens are well kept. The rough varies and you can find dirt and mud sometimes. Take a drop! The pros would play it up on much better lies. Enjoy the game!
The course layout is fine It's flat but the long par 4's will challenge most of us. Definitely walkable if you want.
The staff is friendly and appreciates you playing the course. There is no water on the course, but they provide a cooler with two bottles of water for free.
Needs Work
The fairways & greens are in fair condition, however, the cart paths & off-fairway areas are either overly dry & dusty or muddy. Tee boxes are very poorly marked. Most ball washers do not have soapy water nor drying towels. Women's restroom on the course was out of soap, toilet paper, & paper toweling. The trash was overflowing onto the floor. The men's restroom in the clubhouse was dirty. We won't be back.
Every year this course gets in better shape. Keep it up, good job.
SLOW
They need a full time Marshall on the course, as the 4 some playing in front of us were playing from the black tee's and on their drives, barely made it past the women's tee's. Not a straight shot out of any of them on any drives or holes.
Great course
Been plying this course for years, in great shape this year and great value.
Good Value and spraying is allowed.
We took our sons in their 30s to this place as they can send the ball further afield than us. The course was actually quite nice (better than a year ago) and qutie playable. Of course the layout is a bit quirky but nothing that can't be handled.
The staff were great considering the frost delay. Pace of play was a bit erratic but still better than 4:30. Overall, it was a good day!
Great Value
We used to play this course a lot but the condition worsened, this year the course in great shape, the greens were fantastic. Overall this is a very good value
Course had no drinking water on course, but was available in snack bar.
Their was a lot of damp an muddy places, they apparently had some irrigation problems, but we had a good time even with the difficult pin placement for amateurs.
Improved
I played Tres Rios about 3-4 years ago and I was impressed by the changes especially the greens. They were spectacular, fast and true. Fairways were also very good. Unfortunately if you stray off the fairways you encounter a multitude of different poor conditions like hard pan, sand, weeds, etc.
I also think that the course would benefit from adding a few more teeing options. Far too many par 4's are over 400 yards which are too long for the average golfer which leads to slow play. The gap between forward and white tees is almost 1,000 yards and should be 400-500 yards.
Going in the right direction, keep it up.
Some changes need to be made
The course is fun to play but needs some changes to attract more players or to be able to charge more . First thing the flags are all the same color therefore you don't know if the hole is in front or at the back of the green , also the bunkers need sand.
Nice course
It's in good shape greens are good and fast
Need yardage marker but good for the money
