About
Junior National Golf Club (formerly known as Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park and Estrella Mountain Golf Course) is rich with dense forestry including eucalyptus, mesquite, and pine trees as well as cottonwoods. The course has a parkland-style layout with rolling fairways lined with trees and undulating greens that are medium-sized and fast. To add more challenge to the golf course, water hazards and bunkers come into play on several holes. The par-4 seventh hole is considered the most difficult driving hole on the course. There are stately trees off the tee and the second shot is to a narrow sloping green. Junior National Golf Club features multiple tee boxes for a variety of different golfing options.

Course needs work on conditions!!
I like the course layout, just needs more care!
Good course BUT????
Excellent value BUT slow play essentially ruins the course. Apparently the course management really doesn't care. Even when called from on the course, they do nothing to resolve major slow play issues.. There are NO marshals and even if they had some the management would negate their effectiveness!! Good course for value but only if you can spent 5+ hours for a round!

Flat but long
nice course at the edge of the hills and quiet. Old palms and eucalyptus and plenty of birds in this quiet surrounding. Fairways and greens in good shape. Course is kind of flat but long, You can use your driver on all par 4s, which is a change from most of the courses in the valley. Greens are cut extremely short and do not hold the ball so your backspin has to be exaggerated. Putting is also vey challenging as the holes were made with a significant pullout resulting in a nice upward lip at the edges of the holes: Your ball cannot just roll in but must dive in! Loved the 19th hole with nice views of the mountain, quiet surroundings and no CO2 and particles: Roads are far and carts are electric (with nice incorporated GPS.)

Downhill slide
Unfortunately the care and conditions of this course are on a downhill slide. Greens are dry and crusty. Fairways are patchy and there are weeds and crab grass everywhere.

Good value
Greens fast, fairways need work.

Fun round
Got started at 2 PM and got in 9 holes before we had to leave for another appointment. The pace of play was slow because of a domino effect ahead of us.
The greens are fast, to say the least. A fun challenge though.
I can recommend this course to anyone who enjoys a challenge.

Price is Right
This is an adequate golf course. The course itself is in fair condition but with the use of special pricing coupons, it's well worth playing.

good and bad
Good course. Great greens. Slowest round I've ever played. Could really use a Marshall to keep things movibg. Overall a good value for the dollar.

Beat up!
Nice little course that has gone down the toilet.
More dead spots than I could count.
$25 rates acceptable only if you're looking for a practice round.

Don't tell anybody
Hey I had so enjoyed myself I went back again last week and plan on going again this weekend!
This is a great track with a good blend of long and short holes. You better bring your A putting game for sure as the greens are some of the fastest I've ever been on.
Shop staff friendly and restaurant too.
Great value for the money.
Bunker's that you can actually play out of, excellent sand.

Good for the money
Good playable muni course. At the time we played the course was in good not great condition, but very playable. Greens were very fast.

Fast greens
The course was in good shape. The greens were very fast for me which is one reason my score was so high. They weren't a normal color green color so I thought they put something on them to help the vegetation. They ran true and I didnt notice any bumping or weaving so my score was my own fault. The pace of play was great if anything it was my group that was a bit slow. The staff was friendly as usual which is very good.

Solid Track
This course is solid! The greens are in great condition and the fairways are good. Cannot comment on the food or drink becuase the clubhouse was closed due to the off season.

Worse course in the valley.
This is the worst golf course in the entire Phoenix Metro area. The course was in such bad shape that they offered me a free foursome to come back with my friends when it got better. So we came back a couple months later and it wasn't much better. I felt really bad for wasting their time and taking them to this horrible track.
Good time
Course is a decent play and has some interesting holes. I would recommend this course to average and better players.

GREAT VALUE
COURSE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE FOR BEGINNING OF DECEMBER. GREENS CUT DOWN AND PRETTY FAST. PACE OF PLAY WAS ABOUT 4.5 HOURS ALTHOUGH WE WERE PAIRED UP WITH 2 BEGINNERS SO NOT BAD CONSIDERING. CARTS COULD USE SOME ATTENTION-PARKING BRAKE DIDNT WORK AND BAG STRAP WAS WORN OUT AND WOULDNT HOLD THE BAG IN OVER BUMPY TERRAIN. HAD TO RIG IT UP WITH THE SHOULDER STRAP. ALL IN ALL, A GOOD DAY ON THE COURSE.

Great course Better customer service
I have a disease and hadn't been out in a while and i called the day before because my friends could not make, i asked to go it alone. I walked in and Robert the gentleman i spoke with the previous day , called me by name and welcomed me by name, Mr Tolliver. I ended up not being able to play , my disease was getting the better of me. i went to say thank you to Robert, he offered either a rain check or money back, without being asked. Robert was compassionate and kind. I have been to that course hundreds of times, i won't ever forget that one.

The course was fun
The course was in good shape and the only complaint is that the markings for yardage is poor as we did not have GPS.

Strange golf cart strategy
We like playing the course. It is challenging and yet fun to play. We found it odd today to see 4 players with 3 carts, 2 players with 2 carts and in one case, 4 players with 4 carts. Yet the course was turning the sprinklers on every 2 hours to help with the over seeding. Obviously weren't worried about the fairways.
Hi "rpangman" We recently overseed the course middle October. The course was cart path only for a week after this recent overseed but we are now good to go with the carts on the fairways.
