About
Junior National Golf Club (formerly known as Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park and Estrella Mountain Golf Course) is rich with dense forestry including eucalyptus, mesquite, and pine trees as well as cottonwoods. The course has a parkland-style layout with rolling fairways lined with trees and undulating greens that are medium-sized and fast. To add more challenge to the golf course, water hazards and bunkers come into play on several holes. The par-4 seventh hole is considered the most difficult driving hole on the course. There are stately trees off the tee and the second shot is to a narrow sloping green. Junior National Golf Club features multiple tee boxes for a variety of different golfing options.

the course needs marshals to keep the speed up. we waited on every tee.
course was in good shape compared to previous owners
Course was in good shape and is fun to play.10
This is a good course to play for any golfer. The holes will challenge all level of golfers and with several sets of tees it is playable for all.
Best Green Under $50
This course is in fine shape, green are rolling very nice.
This course is a good maintained friendly course
I play this course on a regular basis. Since new owners have taken over about two months ago, they keep trying to upgrade the course. Installed GPS on carts this week. Play is getting pretty heavy lately and play has been slower then usual.
Good Value
The course was in good shape following over seeding and there was plenty of sand in their traps. Overall the changes they've been making for about a year have payed off and the course is a lot more enjoyable to play today than 4 years ago.
Few hazards and no significant rough
This is a fairly bland course set in a flat river valley. It could be a lot better if more attention was paid to the condition. They appear to have a gopher problem on many fairways. Good value for the money.
Course much improved
Played here Oct 24,25 & 27 2012. Looks like we have a few reviews here that forgot about over-seed season patience. With other local courses closed for over-seed this course is getting alot of traffic from those closed courses. To be totally expected this time of year in Arizona. Course is in good shape and greens are much improved and rolling very nice. I have been in contact with new course superintendent and he is determined to make this a great place for everyone to play and enjoy with fast greens, nice collars around the greens, fresh new sand in bunkers, and an overall clean place to play golf. Great staff that is very people oriented. Green fees are very affordable at $40. Want them less? Don't expect great conditions guys. Budgets? We noticed great favorable change in conditions and we will be back. Enjoyable, yet reasonably challenging course. Nice to see Ladies Cactus Tour playing there when we played. We will be back.
Pro shop chaos
we paid top dollar and made reservations for 1130am tee time. My brother is a vietnam vet and cant walk well at all. I left him at the car while I went to pay and get a cart for him. I was told all the carts were out and to come back 15 minutes before tee time. At 1115 i was told there still were no carts and that they were 20 minutes behind and to come back in 30 minutes. So my brother couldnt hit any range balls or putting green due to the distance to walk. I went back 30 minutes later and there still were no carts. At 1150 we were told we got the carts that were coming off the 18th green and that we were up.. Unreal Then you cant take the cart to pick up a disabled USA vet.. The guys in the pro shop and the marshal seemed to have no idea how to get people to the tee on time..
Pace of play was terrible
We quit after the 13 th hole because we were at 4:20 hours and 20 minutes called the pro shop they said they would send the ranger out never saw him the problem was there was a six some ahead never heard of that the course was to busy to have that
great course for the money
fairways were in great shape. looks great and provides a challenge. The only negative was that the greens were a little slow and bumpy but this was just after over-seeding so it was expected
Good condition for overseeding
The staff is very cordial, tee times were on schedule. The course was coming off over-seeding and was in really good shape considering that. I will definitely will be back in a few months to try again when the grass ages. The putting greens with the fresh growth were a bit slow and bumpy, but not as bad a aeration. Watch out when hitting into the second growth (be sure to have plenty of balls).
Just Overseeded so greens were furry slow
Nice old style course layout and fairways and tee boxes were very green and lush. Greens were new rye that had to be left high to grow. Very nice course and staff.
