Junior National Golf Club
About
Junior National Golf Club (formerly known as Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park and Estrella Mountain Golf Course) is rich with dense forestry including eucalyptus, mesquite, and pine trees as well as cottonwoods. The course has a parkland-style layout with rolling fairways lined with trees and undulating greens that are medium-sized and fast. To add more challenge to the golf course, water hazards and bunkers come into play on several holes. The par-4 seventh hole is considered the most difficult driving hole on the course. There are stately trees off the tee and the second shot is to a narrow sloping green. Junior National Golf Club features multiple tee boxes for a variety of different golfing options.

Greens in good condition
Greens in good condition but fareways need attention. Overall good course to play and price is average for winter play.
Course plays short
The course plays like concrete even though fairways look lush. The greens are VERY fast and i couldn't get any pitches to stick all went at least 10' off the green, pitch and run works best.
5h15m to play the round, the course was backed up because of 1 slow group, two groups ahead of us. could not see any players anywhere on the course ahead of them. 1 of the 4 in our group quit after 9 holes. He was frustrated with the slow play.
price i felt expensive for the course condition. We will not be back for a while...
Tres Rios GC
Started out with a frost delay. After thawing out for 30 minutes we tee off to an interesting golf course. Nestled at the base of the Estrella Mountains the course offers tree lined grassy fairways. Miss the fairways and you'll likely end up getting blocked by the trees or lying in dirt and/or deadpan. There is very little rough. The bunkers around the greens are firm with dirt base. The greens were surprisingly quick and in good condition. There is water but it's only found on three holes. Tres Rios is a bit out of town but the rates are good and you'll find this course fun!
Very tough greens to read and very fast.
Average public course. Fairways were a little sparse with scruffy looking dirt on the edges. As I said above, very challenging greens. Biggest gripe was the time of play. Staff very friendly.
A tad over booked, but the new GPS's in the golf carts are awesome!

This course is in horrible condition
The overall condition of this course is horrible from tee to green. Grass is scarce, greens are bumpy with divot marks all over them and not well maintained. Not worth the money they charge at all
Friendly staff,
Course was packed, 40 minute delay in getting out, no course Marshall, group in front fell 2 holes behind.
This course is not in very good condition.
Booked on line as a single, the pro shop staff forgot about me. I had to go and ask when I could play. Then they added me to a threesome who had already teed off. The cart I shared barely ran. The tee boxes were in bad need of repair. The pins had not been changed recently. I would not recomend this course to anyone.
Distressed course
I came away sour because the grass was lousy. The fairways needed toupees or comb-overs. But then I thought, what if I was a really good golfer wanting to practice shots off hard tack and bare areas. This would a bonanza for such a player as 50 percent of shots were distressed. I doubt I will return, although the layout and the surroundings are more than adequate. Good place for a good player wanting to practice these specialty shots. Traps were good, greens fair.
The GPS feature on each cart is a nice feature.
We enjoy the challenge of the course, and the mountain views are nice.
Great Price, pace of play, and course.
Always in great shape and the best bargain for the conditions and course in the entire west valley.
Frisky greens
Bring you A game. Fairways need a little work. Really nice big trees. Satisfactory 18 holes of golf. We will be back, fore!
Nice course.
Nice course diffent from the rest of the courses around the area, theres no houses and no desert between the holes; Just grass and trees, makes playing a little easier. Pace of play is very slow 5+ hours for 18.
Needs Attention
Tres Rios could be a very good value course. It has a decent layout, it's walkable for those who like that, and provides enough challenge to make the round interesting.
The've got 2 really big problems but both should be easy fixes. Because of burrowing animals, their tee boxes are atrocious. Throw some dirt down, smooth it out, and give us somewhere to stand. You shouldn't have to hit from bad lies on the tee.
The second problem is why they've lost me as a customer. Due to the course layout, there is a natural bottleneck that begins at the 6th hole. Even though there is a "player assistant" who monitors this area, he refuses to do anything to keep things moving. And when he sits at a par 3 and watches 4 foursomes try to play the hole at the same time...
If you're going to play this course, plan on being the second or third group waiting to hit on every tee box.
Worth the money, but
The layout is fine and length is a challenge, but greens are a little slick and sloped. Course appears to have a gofer problem which takes away from the aethetics. But for $29 you have more than you paid for.
Very Basic; old style; flat
Not a course that keeps your attention as many holes are very similar to the previous ones.
Very poor conditions/
Our group was looking for some golf at an affordable price which Tres Rios offered but the condition of the course was not worth the money we paid. Very poor conditions from tee to green and staff was non responsive when feedback was given. We will not return to Tres Rios.
Will not be back
Had to wait almost an hour after our reserved tee time for a cart due to poor planning on the courses part. Then found the course to be in horrible condition...many dead trees, lots of dirt spots and obviously the course needed a bit more water. Was told there was a new owner so they need to come see what it looks like!
