Wild Dunes Harbor Course, designed by Tom Fazio, is said to be cut from some of the prettiest real estate in South Carolina. Water makes up a great deal of the Harbor Course layout. After all, half the course runs along the world’s longest water hazard, The Intracoastal Waterway. Fazio claims the Harbor Course to be one of his favorites. "Working on the Harbor Course was very satisfying to me as a designer because we had to create everything. It was a very challenging, and ultimately, a very satisfying project."

Very Challenging!

Beautiful, well maintained course. Very narrow fairways and lots of water, Challenging but fun greens. If you’re a high handicapper (like I am) bring plenty of extra balls .

Great course along the waterway

Played Harbor this morning with my son (a beginning player) and my bro-in-law and nephew. I really like this course as it's not too difficult if you can keep it in play off the tee and it's fairly short. If you struggle controlling your tee shots, there is a lot of water and natural area that will make it tough. Several beautiful holes along the IC waterway and a couple of tough finishing holes make this a good, lower priced alternative to its big brother, the Links Course. Only knock on pace of play was the group two ahead of us (first of the day) was very slow and seemed completely oblivious to how backed up groups were behind them were. They never even let a single playing behind them go through. Thought the marshall could have done more there. Otherwise, great course, great staff, and worth the price.

Awkwardly designed Course

Don’t pay the $85+ price tag, try to get a deal, and bring a lot of balls. Fairways are tight, greens are tiny. Finding the course was an adventure, and finding some holes was an even bigger one.

Tight course. Beautiful views. There is no “turn” and no ability to get food in between 9 and 10. Clubhouse was closed when round ended around 6:30-7 PM.

Great course. Would play again…but pack a lunch.

Island golf

Nice course and lay out. The staff is super friendly. I think the price is a little high for what it is. But still had fun.

Fairways very tight

Played July 4th course is very difficult with tight fairways not recommended for beginners or high handicap golfers. Pace was slow but I guess that’s to be expected on a holiday.

Worst layout in USA

I have played well over 100 courses and I am scratch, message me for my GHIN. This place is the worst layout ever designed. Greens that are 8 paces wide, tricked up holes, roads and houses on every single hole! Architect should be ashamed to have his name on it. Conditions are bad too! Slow greens that are not cut or rolled. Bunkers are inconsistent and some are washed out. I wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone. If you’re a mid handicap it will be miserable. Nothing fun or good about this place. Rangers on every few holes lurking around. I will not be back and I won’t be playing their other course either, The Links.

Every year is worse

I wish someone new would take over what was once a great couple of courses. Years of neglect are showing. Still charging like a premier course when it not as nice as a number of munies.

Beautiful Course

I played on Friday 6/25/21 and had a 0850 tee time. Traffic was light getting to the course and I was able to hit a bucket of balls at the range before my round. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the course was in great shape. Greens were fast and ran true and I had a great time playing this challenging and beautiful course. I’m looking forward to coming down to play it again!
