Toka Sticks Golf Club
About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Toka Sticks a great value
Beautiful day, great staff, course in beautiful shape.
Nice course, excellent staff!
Staff are amazing! Right from the club drop to the pro shop, snack bar, cart girl to the course maintenance staff I can’t see how anyone could have been more pleasant or more helpful.
Course is in great shape, greens, tee boxes, fairways were all in great shape.
All courses in Phoenix and surrounding area are priced too high this time of year but for this course at the price we paid I was happy.. keep up the great work at this course, we will be back!
Nice, solid place to play
Toka Sticks is a fun course with some nice holes. It is not a desert style course, as is common in Arizona, but more of a parks land course. The greens were in excellent shape and the fairways were nice, too. Several of the tee boxes are in need of leveling. The greens are particularly challenging with quite a few undulations. The course is not cheap by any means but the price of golf in the winter in Arizona has gone up dramatically over the last several years. Comparatively, the greens fees here are reasonable but it’s still a bit of a shock to fork out $100 for this level of course.
Nice course with friendly staff
The course was in excellent condition but the pace of play was a bit slow. The price was high but during this time of year all courses are pricey.
Much Improved!
They have spent a lot of money to revamp this course! They removed all the reeds in the water hazards which makes it easier to view the greens. The tee boxes were so much better, the greens nicely groomed and the fairways had nice turf to hit off of! The bunkers actually had new sand. Nice new carts with windshields for those cool mornings. The staff is still very nice and accommodating as were the course marshals! Pace of play was perfect and you didn’t feel rushed. Some of the stick palm trees could come down but I imagine they stay as an obstacle. It’s a basically flat course but gives you a chance to work on your skills! Pin placement on these greens were touchy so good putting is a must!
Course in good shape. Staff, cart guys and starter very friendly. No other contact with staff.
Love the new carts
Great day of golf.
Course & Greens were in really good condition. Had a great time.
Great course
Course conditions were great. Consistent putting green condition. This is not a complaint but I wish they had a chipping area.
Major Upgrades
According to the staff, nearly $1 million has been pumped into this course in upgrades and improvements. We always enjoy playing this course when we get the chance. As long as they are making improvements, they need to offer a back-nine rate first thing in the morning. The course layout is very conducive to running 18 hole starts on Tee 1 and 9 hole only starts on Tee 10 first thing in the morning. If you have not played this course in a while, check out the improvements and investments that the management and staff are making.
Course was fun to play
The overall course was in good shape they’ve done a lot of work trimming and hedges and bushes greens are rolling at about an 11 which is really nice. I would definitely play there again.
Nice course.Improvements made
A nice moderate course to play. They have made several iprovements since I last played. Gopher problem but none impacted the greens or play. Good Marshall kept pace of play good.
