Toka Sticks Golf Club
About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Enjoyable Day of Golf
We had a great time playing on this course. We will play here again
A $45 value for $80 on an average tract
A 61 degree day w winds at 10-15 mph gusting to 25, made this parkland style course play a little longer and a bit tougher than it normally plays. Tee boxes and fairways are in good shape. The greens have fungus and bare spots that were a disappointment for the $80 green fee. The pin placements were unfair for the windy conditions. Three greens wouldn’t let the ball stop by the hole. Three good uphill putts ended their forward motion by the hole only to roll backdown the slope of the green w the wind pushing them back to the bottom. The bunkers had no sand, so make the hero shot coming out or pick it clean to have a chance of keeping it on the green. Pace of play was average at 4 hours for 18. Staff is very friendly and helpful. All in all great fun, but at a steep price $80, for an average tract, worth $45 at best. Gouge the tourists but give the locals a break. Get an AZ resident rate!
Iowa boys
Course in good condition with really plush fairways and hard and fast greens. Playing partners from Iowa were really fun to play with. Course fees are too high for the quality of the of the layout. Also, recommend lowering beer prices to make it affordable.
Enjoyable round
We had a fun round at Toka Sticks. Even with a frost delay we did our round in very good time. Fairways and tee boxes in good condition but some of greens had big ruts and bald areas. it’s a forgiving course so big confidence booster. We will go back.
Poor condition of course
There were no ball washers available. Difficult to determine distance to the hole as all flags were yellow with no small flag indicators to determine depth on green. Many greens were in poor shape, burned out spots, etc. Rough areas just off the fairway were bumpy with holes and bare spots. Fairways were generally in good condition.
Course in great shape, but poor layout
If you’ve played here before you know what you’re in for. There are a few holes where you won’t be able to find your ball because you’ll be surrounded by range balls. You’ll need to protect yourself most of the day as well because the layout of the course is links style and the best players in the valley aren’t playing here so there will be stray balls around you most of the day. All in all, decent day and the course was in great shape. Be prepared to wait at the turn as the snack bar is way backed up!
Nice and well run!
Nice and well run! Great staff! Thanks for a great day of golf!😀⛳️👍🏼
Easy to get too
Friendly staff. Nice course to accommodate any level player. Pace of play was too slow. 3 deep on every hole. Appeared no one came put to address which was disappointing.
Good value
The course design is average but it is in generally nice shape and the pace of play was good. Very friendly staff. Golf is so expensive in the Phoenix area this time of year and this place is more reasonable than most. It's still a bit pricey but not for this area, I guess.
Enjoyed the day weather was suspect and staff was very accommodating.
