About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Pretty easy course. Staff very friendly.Greens fast but some in not great shape.. Pace of. play a little slow but staff tried to keep players moving.
Golf in January
Wide open and flat fairways in great condition for January. Professional staff and smooth efficient play. Round took less than 4 hours. Only negative no ball washers or map of course anywhere. Would definitely play again!
Great value.
Tees, fairways and greens were in great shape. Beautifully maintained. Not a tough layout but that was the only less than 5 star.
Great Course
Excellent course, always in very good shape. Staff is awesome.
The only negative is the putting green needs some work and there is no chipping green.
Great course for new golfers
Good pace. Course was full. A few greens are showing some wear. Had a new golfer with our group who didn’t leave feeling intimidated by the course! Frequent cart service.
Slow play ruins the day
Good course gone bad with slow play and no marshall to help move things along. The first three holes took over an hour. It's the same story over and over. Lots of employees to get everyone checked and on the course and no one to keep them moving along.
Today Sticks by the Phx Mesa Gateway Airport
We played in just 4 hours and the grass is in great shape for winter time . Course is longer than other retirement type courses. Greens are in great shape. Overall very satisfying.
