About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Good course for the money with descent conditions. The pace of play was fine for us because we were out early but we could see backups in multiple spots. The layout has lots of par 3’s and par 5’s. That combo doesn’t lend itself to quick play so something to keep in mind. I don’t feel like this course is a “must play” but if you are in the area and want to play a relaxed round without the price tag of other courses its just right.

Overseeding SO cart path only! Fairways good and greens Excellent! Paired with Canadian couple with same golf skill set so very enjoyable day heh!

Nice course to golf but the pace of play was slow. It took us just over 5 hours to finish. There were no marshals on the course to get the play moving along at a better pace. The staff were very friendly. The prices were good.
CART PATH ONLY
I checked prior to booking and it showed they opened it up. But got there and they are cart path only. Only one person to serve food and they were on the cart so could not get a bottle of water to take out on my round. The person who let me know did not even ask if they could help me. Over all we had fun, just not expecting to walk that much.

Toka Sticks Sunday
This was a pretty decent round even though reseeding came into play and cart path only was our only way around the course. The course was in decent shape. The normally thick rough that gobbles up your ball if you miss the fairway was nicely trimmed, which allowed a bad drive to be found. Pace of play was great after the group in front of us allowed us to play through. The greens were slow at first but gained some speed after the sun dried up the morning dee. All in all it was a fun round.
Terrible pace of play
No Marshall and too many twosomes made for a very long day. Course is ok, about what you expect for $70 this time of year. Not worth it in my opinion even as one of the cheaper options.
Slow at Toka Sticks
All good except the pace of play was horrendous. Over 5 hours and no marshal to be found. Too many people playing off the wrong tees and exacerbated by being cart oath only restrictions.
Poor conditions
Normally I like playing this course. However, October 10 was the last day they were open prior to overseed. But, they had already done much of the scalping. So, the conditiions were poor in the fairways and on the greens. The rough was OK because it had also been scalped. I would not have scheduled a tee time if there was a warning about these conditions. And, they charged normal rates to boot.
